I understand that. It's why I want to take the time to find the right person to give the next couple of years to. Frank has basically gotten a tryout and has produced a low grade Sam Allardyce. Tell him thanks and find someone with more to offer.
so you never answered my question what manager would you opt for that could realize in your words a more effective style?

I'm not sure, once the season is over maybe I'll try to find some names myself.

But if you're acting like it is hard I'd advise not to. Palace basically gave the job to Vieira because no one else would take it and he's done a better job and it isn't close. Plenty of options.

And you still think we'd have been safe under Benitez?

I don't think we would have been

I think he'd essentially broken the club

You wouldn't get performances like that on Sunday were he still here and you likely wouldn't have gotten those sort of reactions from the crowd

One thing Lampard has seemingly done is get the players to believe a bit and it's rubbed off on the crowd who have been the 12th man for a while now

I think we were certainly doomed with Benitez still at the helm. At least with Lampard we've got a chance

Or maybe leave him and see what he does.

You're acting like a little bisch coz we didn't try and play like 70's Brazil in the last 10 games; totally negating the fact that what he has managed to do over the past couple of weeks is to get the team to stick to a dedicated, tactical plan. Something they have been unable to do for the majority of the season.

No, I'm concerned that keep it tight and try to nick a goal as a very defined ceiling and am concerned that over the course of 4 months we've been unable to see if shades of something else.

I reckon if I did head to head between Vierra and Lampard, it would be very close.

Sick of reading what a good job Vierra has done, they are 12th for Gods sake.

but viera had time to shape his squad, frank was thrown into a turbulent situation on the last day of the transfer window once again with a weird hodgepodge of incompatible players who weren't capable of playing his preferred type of football. even though viera still has ward he also has a bunch of promising attacking players at his disposal. he's done solid work but they're still midtable.

They're in year one of revamping the team, they have a positive goal difference, they went to Wembley and at the end of the day they're still Palace. I don't mean that disrespectfully but top half would be a serious accomplishment.

We'd all take that here.

I think we'll see a different style next season if he keeps us up.

I never had much confidence in him to keep us up and thought he was the wrong appointment but with some shrewd player trading in the summer I don't see him having us in the same position next year.

That hasn't happened though, he's tried to play open football and we got absolutely destroyed and picked apart by more mobile teams. So, like any other good manager, you ensure you don't concede first and foremost and build from there

We don't have no creative outlet in midfield and its also leggy, our attacking fullback was canned in January by the fat pig and our other fullback is approaching retirement.

But yeah, play more open Frank

There is nothing concrete to base this on though right? It's just a feeling.

Alternatively we could just continue to be bad as we have this whole season.

This isn't what I'm saying!

Play conservatively if need be, don't concede big chances doing it and actually create something on the counter now and again.
