We had several chances on Sunday. We didn't defend all game and hope to nick a goal. First half, I'm not sure how much Chelsea actually created.
Possession means nothing ultimately.
We had 9 shots, 4 on target. For a team you are making out battered us and we needed 'miracle saves', they only had 16 shots with only 5 on target.
I'll take those stats against European and World champions who are in the top 4 when we are 18th.
Michael Jackson hasn't really done more. He's had a few results against worse teams than we have played recently and you're going overboard with praise.
We aren't sure on Frank. We are willing to give him an opportunity of a fresh season to see just how much of what he has accomplished has been tainted by what he inherited.

I think people think I'm reacting to specifically Chelsea and I'm definitely concerned more about the entire body of work. I don't really have a problem with how he handled that match specifically, I thought we were a tad fortunate but we were also due a break, it is more about the general levels.

I think it's fair to give him the opportunity if we survive in the league.
He was not brought in to be Sam Allardyce and save us then get the sack.
One picked up a squad an injury away from qualifying for Europe from one of the greatest managers the games seen.
The other was given a team with 1 win in 14 who had been gutted of its creativity and confidence. You can also add the medical and recruitment teams that were massacred by Benitez and his narcissism. As well as that Lampard had 1 day to make any squad changes.
The situations aren't comparable.

No that's the due diligence, I'd spend time seeing what else is out there and trying to see if a better option exists. My hunch is it does.
What did you think about the Brentford and Leeds wins?
I didn't think we played those games anything like how we have played recently. I think those were closer to how he wants us to play but their confidence is so fragile that when we concede they lose the plot so he has changed to keeping it tight to see the season out.

The flip of that is Eddie Howe and the time it took him to get Newcastle purring - didn't they lose his first 9 or something?
I think Lampard can be rightly criticised tbh, constantly picking Kenny for a period of games and persevering with a system that obviously didn't work meant we dropped points when we shouldn't have. He certainly is not without his faults...but if he turns it around and we stay up then it'll all be forgiven.
