Wierdly think if we stay up (we will now imo) then just how difficult a learning step this has been for him as a manager
(one he seems to have noticably learned from too) can be the experience that takes him from a manager with promise but really raw (naive maybe) and into one who is at that next level.
For me mate, when he's talking it comes across as completely open too, not bs, think any other way it's seen through pretty quickly by us - the old saying about Scousers easily spotting bs'ter comes to mind.
We've had a host of managers spew the line about getting the club and fans, the words are easily said, I'm judging it on actions, and Lampard gives off every single sign he does indeed 'get us'. What did Bally say again, think this is a case of it in point
I think Lampard seems a bit astonished, that given the rubbish we've been served up, the fans still get wholeheartedly behind the team. He's probably not used to that at Chelsea at all. These things can move people.
I actually think he has been quite calm through what has been a very difficult time. Barring the comment after the Burnley game he's not thrown players under the bus, and when he did, he got a response.
I say this cautiously, as this lot have thrown ever manager under the buss after a few games, including Ancelotti who is an exceptional man manager, but it does feel like we are improving and getting closer to being a competitive team. We have been competitive most games recently. Weve been unlucky in some games, and lucky in others, but have been in the fight. I still have nightmares they throw the towel in these last 5 games, but think the fan support has probably helped in that regard,
