As soon as we lost against Watford the sabotage began. Nine games into the season. There were legions of people just waiting for the green light to get Benitez out and they never let up until he was gone and we were in a relegation fight.
He should have been sacked immediately after the Watford debacle. I mean he should have never been hired in the first place, but thats a different discussion, however, even a bind man could have seen that his position was untenable after Watford.

The right man at the right time for the club. He gets us, he gets the PL.

Let's get safe and he can clean house in the summer, and build up those players that remain that he thinks he can get a tune out of (see what he's done with Iwobi).

He knows "the project" doesn't get results overnight. And now after our relegation scrap this season, the fans know it as well. This season will be part of an amazing ride back to the upper part of the table, battling for silverware and playing in Europe

Let's enjoy the ride

We certainly wouldnt of been in a relegation fight, the positivity from the Newcastle game forward has been amazing, we are a real 12th man now and the results show.
Next season we have to be like this from the start of the season, good things are coming, if we allow them, all we need is Moshiri to be gone and its rosey times ahead
It worries me that people think like this because realistically it just can't happen. The fans have stood up to be counted at the time when the team needed them most, as anybody who has any experience of Everton fans knew would be the case. Pulling out all the stops when your backs are against the wall is one thing, but it's just not fair to expect it to become the norm. If the club starts to compete at the right end of the table then this type of support can continue, but anyone thinking we're going to be turning up to the training ground with flares and roaring appreciation for throw ins in a mid table clash with nothing riding on it is in for a bit of a disappointment. Thankfully Lampard has gone a long way to healing some of the wounds inflicted by the appointment of the previous manager and those who supported it.

Oh mate.

You genuinely think that tactics have nothing to do with it, and the fact we are cheering the team on is winning us games? You're not that stupid mate - come on.

Tactics yes but players need confidence too, look at Pickord and Iwobi as best examples, they need a happy enviroment, its a pleasure to be on the pitch for us right now. Look at Keane on Sunday, fantastic performance from a confidence player without worries

Besides that, isnt it more fun as a supporter if we all having a good time too?

Im actually looking forward to this transfer window under FL especially if we stay up. Im sure it will be a turbulent one but im looking forward to seeing the team he wants to build.
So am I mate, especially if it's his say and his say only who comes in and who goes out. We've had enough no marks paying through the nose for dross and big wage dossers. Jeez I never want the club to go through a Bernard,Gomes,James,Tosun, Schneiderlin patch again. It feels like Everton again even though we're still in danger.

You do know that no matter how many times you repeat this rubbish, it doesn't make it true?

Benitez was the worst possible appointment. Evertonians understand football and knew what would happen. No Evertonian supported Benitez as the Everton manager.
Well some did to an obnoxious degree, but they ended up with egg on their faces big time.:D I hope Frank has a long and successful reign as Everton manager. He needs two full seasons at the very least imo.

Meh one league win in nearly four months worth of football, with a record like that, you deserve to be booted out on your rear end.

Thank god we have a manger now, who seems to know what he's doing, and who has reunited what was a divided and broken fanbase.

We were going going and gone, under that kopite slob of a former manager imo.

We should be thanking @ForeverBlue92 @4737carlin @davek @FrenchDarrenBent @Death along with others...*

...and we should be thanking Benitez.

Without these levels of total and utter posting ineptitude fires perhaps wouldnt have been stoked against that dreadfully incompetent manager.

I hope our 'fingering' will soon change to 'head patting' as Lampard takes us forward.

*special mention to @TheBigIguana who doesnt like the football we are currently playing.

On a side note, I dont think weve seen scenes like these from the fanbase since perhaps under Joe Royle. Lampard has united us behind the squad.

I dont care about the style of play! I dont care about "pretty, fancy football" I just want us to WIN.

WiN for the fans.

WIN against the refereeing corruption

WIN against the biased RS media

WIN EVERTON JUST WIN ;)

Thank you Frank.

I tried.

But this thread is still infected.

Even if that was true is it not a clear indication of why he should never have been given the job. It was never going to end well for somebody who was just never wanted and that should have been taken into account. What he did in his time at the club justified peoples opinions of him and the reasons for never wanting him in the first place.
