Some superb recent results have certainly given us hope for a better future and hopefully this massive kick up the arse will ring a few bells in the Boards head.

Should read the comments to Lineker's tweet yesterday...apparently the wins were all because of PL corruption due to them wanting us to stay in the league. I died. Crap club one second, too big to go down the next...Twit'teh

That was right too.

He looked defeated and was making excuses.

I said if we didn't beat United he had to go. He got the win and we've turned the corner since.

Let's get this right: there is no one greater than the club. If Lampard had overseen a defeat to United it was the duty of the club to twist again.

Anyway, we are where we are now and it all ended well.

Thought you gave all managers a season

Not sure I understand some criticising Lampard. At the end of the day once Benitez had done this thing the team/club were like a terminally ill patient on life support. Any manager being dropped into that mess had their work cut out make no mistake. So to get us in a position where we could avoid relegation is commendable.

Everyone needs to get behind the manager this summer regardless of what league we are in. We cannot afford another managerial change. It’s absolutely destroying us.

Said to my bro before the Chelsea game, whatever happens we should stick with Lampard, was fully expecting it to be going down tbh

His biggest achievement is the connection he has rebuilt between the players and the fans. Tactically he has adapted his tactics. We needed to be more pragmatic which was needed in our position.

In a reset scenario and hoping but not yet assuming we are safe, it will be interesting to see how his relationship with the fans continues to develop. He has quite some leverage there, and still more if he guides us over the line.

I don't expect any manager to be overtly critical of their employer but he of course will know the shambolic nature in which the club has been run.

I hope some lessons are learned but he needs to assert that football people run the football side if there are signs that still isn't going to be the case. No signings he doesn't want should be imposed on him whilst recognizing limitations on players that are going to be out of reach.

I think and hope he will own the teams performances and results. Hope he is savvy enough to be able to apply subtle pressure without passing the buck. It's down to him. With Koeman in particular it was always someone else's fault. Benitez was just starting to get going with that narrative.

I sense that Lampard very clearly actually gives one about the club. Can he now add to the bond with the fans and the enthusiasm and attempt to refashion the club with Thelwell in a methodical and strategic way?

We need to clear out the bad apples and get some good characters in who want to play for the club. Changing the manager every 6 months stops this happening and just plays into the hands of the corwardly players who know they can see off another manager with a few losses.

A lot of them need to leave this summer, Frank and his staff will know better than anyone who he can rely on. He should be allowed to keep who he wants and build his own team.
