Well DCL and Richarlison were the successors upfront to Lukaku. I’m sure we’ll be selling DCL fairly soon and we have to hope the club find the next array of players to lead the line.

Didn't replace Gueye either.

Basically, we're not very good at replacing players.

“He’s going nowhere. He’s our player and that was a hugely-important thing to me, he’s the sort of player we want to build to go forward with".

- Frank Lampard 13th July 2022.

Now stick to your word.

I think that was supposed to be Gbamin with Delph as cover. Obviously the club didn’t think they’d both get crocked immediately.

Then it was Allan, who in retrospect was not really the sort of player we needed but we were placating Carlo who wanted him.

So in retrospect yes we didn’t replace him, but it’s not as though we haven’t tried, we seem to buy two new midfielders every summer window.

Players need changing

The board needs changing

The owner needs changing

The support teams at the club need changing (especially player conditioning/medical)

The manager does not need changing. Tried that 6 times already and it hasn’t worked. Just let him get on with the job.
I agree but that doesn't make him untouchable, there are a few on here who are happy to give him the credit for wins/keeping us last year but then blame players and the board for everything that goes wrong.

Someone said he gets a free pass for staying up this year, that's laughable. I expect a bit more progress than 17th this year. For me that's not unreasonable.

I just think we need to work through the problems. We had one of the worst squads in the league last season with terrible injury problems. We’ve made some decent signings to add some more depth so should be better this season. Sadly anything more than battling relegation is improvement on last season such were the depths we’d plummeted to.

I’m hopeful we won’t be near it this season so Lampard can just get on with the job,
