It's possible Gordon's head has been turned as well. Lampard/Thelwell would have to be pragmatic enough if we're offered 50m for an academy graduate. Although I've seen its 25m plus a lot of add ons reported too.

Can you see the difference between a manager identifying a type of player (young high potential good work ethic) and a specific player (Gordon and only Gordon)?

Do you understand that if we sell him for £45m we can buy 2 players at least who fit into the same parameters, qualifying as 'the sort of player we want to go forward with' but turning one of those into two of those 'sort of players'

There's one flaw in that logic though. This is Everton. You might have ideas on fifa manager of getting two boss players out of that. But when Moshiri plays fifa with 50 million you get Sigurdsson.
