As much as I dislike Martinez and dont believe Thelwell would appoint him - scarily he's a better manager than Lampard.

It is worrying to see him like that in the interview. It almost seemed like a case of laughing to avoid crying

Really wanted him to do well and think he could be a manager someday, maybe at a lower level but he's just not gonna work out at all here is he? I think Southampton and Bournemouth at the minute at the only clubs in the league you could argue don't have a better manager than us and even then it's arguable. As painful as some people will see it someone like Dyche would instantly improve this squad, we'd still be crap but it'd improve.

Looking at Wolves and Villa though there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to attract a good foreign coach either, it'll never get done though because the board are too thick, they'll go for someone British or worse someone they know, aka Martinez. I'm not sure we survive with Lampard going on for much longer, it might get to a point where the damage is done.

Does he sign the players then?

Maupay was always signed as a reserve striker, he averages 9 goals a season in the premier league. I thought it was a sensible signing at the time.

A reserve striker who comes in when the main striker is injured and was injured for large parts last year. Maupay was never the right option and the manager ok'ed such a poor signing

9 goals in a fluid front 3 and a number 10 behind him that pass the ball around.
