2022/23 Frank Lampard

To be fair we were the better team and had enough chances to comfortably win that game. Our problem is lack of a functioning striker or a midfielder with an eye for a goal. Wolves had two decent opportunities and scored with them both.
It was a horrendous final scoreline to stomach, but we were a square first time ball from Gordon to Maupay, and a right foot Gordon smash into a half empty net instead of a left foot pea-roller away from ending the game before half time, and then getting carried away like after the Palace win.

We’d have had the kids on at 75 mins and they’d all have scored. Such fine margins, but we constantly bugger up the key moments.

If they've even considered reappointing Martinez the club is doomed so honestly just get it over with

I don’t think Lampard lasts that long as I think we will get hammered tomorrow. The thing that annoys me is that we have seen Brighton replace Potter quickly with De Zerbi who looks really good so far but we have no succession planning and seemingly have no ideal style of play with which to select a manager to suit

I have an idea, let's get a manager who loves possession but can't defend and has no idea how to turn possession in to goals, THEN let's go for a manager who who wants to throw that all away and play with powerful wingers crossing to a dominating CF, THEN let's go for one of the most negative managers of all time, THEN let's go for....I don't really know what he was even trying to do, THEN let's go for a MASSIVELY negative manager(whoa, almost like 2 in a row here! We employ negative is our identity?) who everyone absolutely despises, THEN let's go for someone who wants a solid back and solid midfield but literally 0 idea how to attack.

What could POSSIBLY go wrong?!

Hope you had a good Christmas mate, not sure after reading that.

What would you do if you had free rein then?

Everton might cut short Ellis Simms’ loan spell with Sunderland in a bid to address their goals shortage, with Frank Lampard admitting he needs results to buy time as manager.

Lampard’s team visit Manchester City on New Year’s Eve having lost six of their last eight Premier League matches, including a 95th-minute reversal at home to Wolves on Boxing Day. Everton’s weakness in front of goal was again evident with several chances squandered against a team that had started the day bottom of the table.

New strikers are a priority for Lampard in the January transfer window but, with none on the immediate horizon, Everton are considering recalling Simms from a productive loan spell in the Championship. The 21-year-old has scored seven goals in 17 appearances for Tony Mowbray’s promotion-chasing side, having joined on a season-long loan in the summer. Everton have a recall option from 1 January, however, and may activate it in what would be a considerable blow to Sunderland.

Lampard, who is one of several managers with an interest in the Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga, said: “We have the ability to recall Ellis and we are considering that. It will be my decision first and foremost. There is a balance of what is best for Ellis and what is best for us and to get him in a position to be ready to come in and score goals.

“It is one question to be scoring in the Championship, another scoring goals in the Premier League. When we look at where we are at – and I am talking about options off the bench for us and options to start if someone shows himself – we have to look at everything that is in our hands, and Ellis is our player.”

The Everton manager spoke to the club owner, Farhad Moshiri, and the chairman, Bill Kenwright, after the Wolves defeat and said: “There is a unity and an understanding of what we want to do.”

But he admitted results must improve after a run that has left Everton one place and one point above the relegation zone. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has missed most of the campaign through injury, is available for the trip to the Etihad Stadium.

Lampard added: “I’m not saying I’ve got time. I understood the job I was in, I understood the job I was in at Chelsea, I understand expectations. In terms of Dominic, we’ve hopefully got him at a stage where his match fitness is pretty good. Hopefully he comes back and hits the ground running. Hopefully we can bring in players who have a big impact. It’s important that we bring in players to impact now. And we need to get results. That’s what helps with the time and the process. I understand it’s as simple as that.”

But last season you claimed I worshipped Benitez for supporting him in the same manner ? The difference there is that when we started hurdling down the table I stated I didn't care if we sacked him or not due to the poor results whereas you still support the current manager unconditionally despite us being even worse off currently. ?‍♂️

I aint fussed if you still support Lampard or not thats your business I was just asking your thoughts on him slating the fans and got bemused by your angry response. ?
Benitez is better than Frank according to statistics.

It’s time to be real guys.
Frank is indeed a nice guy and was a very good player but the guy doesn’t have a clue on how to manage a team and approve on transfers.

I’ve said it before we need Sam allardyce he will give our players a reality check and they will be playing to save their careers. Sometimes a nice manager works against the team. Sam will straight up tell McNeil or iwobi listen you aren’t good enough you better play like you never played before or I’ll drop you and ship you out?
