It would also save the payout to Ashley Cole. Proper business head on there, lovely stuff.Someone sent me a screen grab of manager odds. Lee Carsley was on the list.
I'd be good with Carsley. He could be our Mikel Arteta.

Cone laying gets mocked, buts it’s a lot harder than it sounds. Getting them in a proper straight line is a real pain in the arse.If a cone layer can get a team to first place, Duncan Ferguson should have a hell of a managerial career.
I agree we look absolutely nailed on to go down but if some immediate changes could happen, new signings and a new manager, we might have a chance, so it is worth a gamble. If we go down we are totally screwed for yearsNo way we stay up imo mate, there's too much wrong with the club for me to believe we're going to stay up.
I've watched each team in the league this season a couple of times and obviously the same highlights everyone else watches like MOTD etc and I think we're the worst side and by some distance. We are deservedly in the bottom 3.
What happens if Dyche comes in and loses his first 4 or 5? Do we twist again? If we get relegated under Dyche do we sack him, pay him compo and find someone else?
Those above questions would go for anyone like Dyche, Nuno, Ferguson....limited and proven as limited.
Our club is pathetic, the board is pathetic, the squad is pathetic, the managers record is pathetic but the board are that pathetic that they'll pick a manager who is pathetic and we'll all be saying he's pathetic.
We need a complete reset which means the owner, DoF and board need to go and asap. Then we might get people in who know what they're doing and they'll then actually appoint a competent manager and a competent DoF which in turn means we'll get a competent squad and be competitive again.
It doesn't matter who is in charge whilst the club is run into the ground by utter charlatans
Damning stats on motd last night. Only five players in the squad have over ten premier league goals in their entire careers. Coleman is our third highest scorer.
Demari Gray a goal every 530 minutes, Iwoni a goal every 840 minutes are our fourth and fifth highest scorers with 18 and 16 goals respectively their entire careers. Gordon similarly goal shy, McNeil even worse.
Same if you look at assists - there’s nobody.
Who can we realistically expect to get goals and assists? We’d be needing players to perform way above their career averages. It’s just not going to happen. The squad is bereft.
Changing a manager is going to do nothing with this squad - need some players capable of scoring and creating added. That’s the bottom line or we go down regardless of manager.
Loads of easy passes until one long diatonal switch resulting in a fightball that could of gone anywhereLong ball tiki taka!
The key has been to get rid of the knob heads and build the right mentality. Do that and you get Eddie Nketiah playing like a world beater. You'd like to think so, as he can clearly coach and we had some good players then but with an owner meddling in transfers and a DOF not allowed to do his job, I am less certain his vision would have been given the autonomy, time or funds necessary. Also whilst it's not the only reason they are good it's clearly the coaching and footballing vision from Arteta, but Arsenal have spent a lot since he's been there, the key is they spent it to a plan and identity of how each player would fit.
This is my point also: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...s-everton-damning-statistic-problems-26042434
Why sack the manager when youve got the same players for the next guy.
How about we just sign some better players who can assist and score?
It's not just that tho. He isn't getting anything out of them, no drive for direction from the side of the pitch
At Chelsea had issues with transitioning from defence into midfield into attack. We have that here
We brought the wing backs off which seemed a positive move at half time
Then didn't change anything else the entire half, we had 3 attacking players on the bench?
Just stood with his arms folder clueless at what to do
Everything's completely unorganised
He had to go
Loads of easy passes and no pressing what so ever. Against any and i mean any half decent side you cant play like that.Loads of easy passes until one long diatonal switch resulting in a fightball that could of gone anywhere
That's not an argument.
That's not an argument.
Bizarre hypothetical.I agree that he was inevitably the wrong appointment because he's a kopite. But he is a good Premier league manager and if he was supported by the fans (which he wasnt) then he would have done a good job here for sure.
