They do. They screen their callers, same way sky will have interviews 20 people and picked the most controversial.

The recruitment has been poor, not going to argue with that.

But to get handily beaten by some of the worst teams in the league within games of each other is unforgivable.

It’s not as if we were unlucky in any of them either, we were handily beaten. Players also need to be held accountable, but a decent manager has an answer to at least get us back in the game.

Shame - really wanted this appointment to work, but in hindsight, Frank’s main plus point was simply that he wasn’t the rotund Latin food server. When the highlight of an Everton manager’s tenure is keeping the club in the PL for another season, it’s just another low bar set. I worry that his successor won’t be able to lay claim to a similar achievement. Just under half a season left to find out I guess… ?
