2022/23 Frank Lampard

Incredibly lackluster announcement from Everton regarding his departure, I thought he was done a disservice with poor recruitment and was just not tactically savvy enough to mastermind positive results with such limited squad. But 3 wins in 20 is abysmal and it was unsustainable. I harbor no I'll will as he tried to connect with the club in way the board was never capable of including kenwright who also masqueraded an understanding of the club he clearly generated to concoct his own distorted legacy. He seemed to be genuine guy that clip when we eluded relegation and told Seamus Coleman's daughter that their dad is one of greatest people ever still is touching, so despite not having the skills keep us plummeting in the table I thought that twitter statement was a disgrace, he pulled the team from the brink of relegation due to Moshiris initial inept decision to hire a lumpy hasbeen narcissist. The club is just such a joke and the people who make that an unfortunate reality will never reliquish power unless they are able to profit from it. But wish ya well Frank maybe steer clear of the premier league for awhile

I think he should drop down a league or 2, or go to another country with a lower profile (Scotland, Belgium, Scandinavia etc) and learn his trade and hone his craft a bit. I do think there’s possibly a decent manager in there

Sums up my feelings - good post - cannot help feeling for him whilst accepting decision was correct.

Thanks for… Onana.

Out of his depth, unlucky, an injury plagued squad with awful recruitment. A real recipe for disaster. Still, should have done much better, settled on a philosophy and have been much more ruthless tactically.

Players need a boss who’s going to scare them into performing, not a mate who’ll look good in trackies and say the nice things.

Tactically inept in particular with his back line and defence. Only game where we looked to have some control was the city match. Park bus with this squad of players, not possession football with a high line..

He did play a part. It does say in that article 'of his own making', though.

Anyway, he's gone now.

Onto the next clown.
I don't want to labour the point because we're now talking about a dead man in football terms, but the quote, for clarity, was "But then Lampard also danced around the pitch after rescuing the club from a relegation battle partly of his own making..."

That partly is critical. Its is also a statement of fact.

Anyway, as you say, on to the next clown. "Send in the clowns. Don't bother they're here."

Did you click the link to read the actual statement? Twitter is designed for one line statements, not paragraphs.

"Frank and his team’s commitment and dedication have been exemplary throughout their time at the Club, but recent results and the current league position meant this difficult decision had to be taken. We wish Frank and all his backroom team well for their future in the game"

The actual club statement wasn't great either a decent sentiment but it was one paragraph where it focused on Frank's time at Everton and still felt kinda hollow. But even in a sacking tweet where it wasnt contentious usually a concise quote is employed to communicate some kind of appreciation

It’s more than the last manager got. Not really sure what sort of statement you are meant to give someone that you’ve just sacked. You aren’t exactly going to praise them for the fantastic job they did or they wouldn’t have been sacked.

He should stick to play golf. Management is not for him.

He sounds like he could be a decent DOF or sporting director. He seems to have a way with players and convincing them to sign.

Hard to see where he goes from here. I think a life in punditry awaits.
He needs to completely redefine what he is as a manager. His style doesn't work.

However, his main thing is he needs to get stronger people around him, too, and stick with one or two for a good few years and heed their advice.
