2022/23 Frank Lampard

Comparing Dyche with Lampard is deeply unfairl. Dyche was thrown in to the job in an emergency. Lampard had a preseason, opportunities to buy and sell and the World Cup on top of it all to sort this all out. Dyche has had to come in and work fast with what Lampard left.
You could argue Lampard was thrown into a similar situation when he took over from the horrible fat kopite, and he kept us up. Will Dyche?

You could accept the facts. Moshiri and Kenwright think they can buy, select and manage a team. Every manager we have had is up against their incompetence. If we go down we will get new owners. If we stay up also likely as Moshiri will be desperate for him and Usmanov to get their cash back. New owners means no Kenwright...cant wait

I think you might need to read a bit further up the thread where I explicitly said that. Good talk.

You can argue that although, we weren't in the relegation zone when Benitez was sacked (Jan 15th), we were 15th and 6 points above the relegation zone and Lampard had an opportunity in the window to get players he wanted (like Dele Alli for example).

In fairness to Frank we were on a downwards trajectory and he would have been told "we can get you Alli, do you want him?". He had no wiggle room on transfers and would also have needed to perform miracles to keep us up, as Dyche now needs to. Just looking at how Frank cannot get a tune out of a £800m squad says it all, an abysmal manager.

Lampard came in on the last day of the window, not exactly a lot of time for negotiating new players like. We were 1 win in 11, that's relegation form. Pretty simple stuff. Lampard turned out to be one of the worst managers in modern history, but he still stopped Rafael from relegating us.

I wouldn't say he was very awful.
He's just a coach who can shape a team with his authority, but not build it from the ground up. He needs to come to teams with a ready-made idea, as far as I'm concerned.

from the BBC

Since Frank Lampard’s return as interim manager, Chelsea have lost six games.

In a single season, the record is 11 defeats in a row by Daniel Farke with Norwich (2019-20).

Meanwhile, Mick McCarthy lost 10 in a row in all competitions in a single season (2005).

we gotta hope he doesn't challenge McCarthy!!

if you combine his everton and chelsea reign he is already on 10 defeats in a row

if gray didn't score a wonder goal v man city it would have been 15 defeats in a row
