Pep Lasso claimed last night that Lampard was telling the team not to pass to team mates.

Would you agree with that statement?
I was being sarcastic. What he's not done is install a system that allows for us to be a strong passing side, especially in attacking areas. So what ends up happening is we can't pass to teammates and instead smash it down the field.

And thats due to training and not the quality of the players?

I mean I like Demz, but theres a very good reason we picked him up for 1.7m and the less said about "Flash" the better really.

No I wouldn’t go that far!

I just think there’s a bit of a reluctance at the moment to acknowledge that we could (not necessarily should) be doing some things a bit better. I think both the last 2 games have seen people putting things down to individual errors etc when the issues have run a bit deeper.

Knocking balls up to maupay isn’t a good plan, so I think it’s fair to say that we could maybe be looking at trying to set up in a way that means we’re not doing that, or if we don’t feel like we can do that, just not use maupay because he’s a complete waste of a player doing what we’ve had him doing. Like I say, this isn’t me calling lampard clueless or saying it’s been a disgrace or anything, just that I can get the argument that maybe we haven’t quite nailed a way of playing that really suits us yet, and we probably need to do that pretty soon.

I said all Summer we would have issues creating chances.

We have nobody that can pick a pass, nobody who can retain the ball.

Ive given Lampard a pass for the last 2 games personally, 2 very tough teams, Newcastle away is currently not an easy game either.

As I say, Palace on Saturday is my benchmark, if we cant break them down and claim the easiest 3 points we will get all season, then we should probably start thumbing through the available managers section.

For the record, im not saying SACK if we dont win, but I will have concerns.

Didnt think we could say anything about Alex Mbappe Iwobi?
It's a holistic thing mate. Yes we're struggling to compete with United and Spurs which will happen. But we also spent large chunks of the game against Leeds and Brentford on the back foot. You can't play that way every week unless you've got a specific way of countering. We don't, we're just hoping something happens.

Re the attacking, you can’t go from a front three of Richie, DCL and James to Gray, Gordon and Maupay without expecting a massive, massive drop off in quality.

Add to that, our midfield three of Gana, Iwobi and Onana hardly seem to be creative passers, chance creators as well as a left back who barely contributes to the attacking third and you can see why we’re struggling.

Richarlison papered over so many of our attacking cracks last season. Hard to see what Frank can do. The front three are right down the bottom of quality compared to other teams in the league and our midfielders aren’t creators and don’t score many… KITAP1 this season until we get to next summer and can recruit.
