2022/23 Frank Lampard

Tonight was abject, I expected us to lose, but, I hadn't realized just how poor Newcastle were. If the best we can manage is 1 shot off target and none on target against a team who played as badly as Newcastle did tonight ,we are in far more trouble than I had thought. Hopefully we pick up a few wins in our remaining fixtures before the world cup, just to take the pressure off.

As much as I think Mykolenko is a decent defender, I think, until Patterson is back, we have to think about playing Vinagre at left back and using Holgate as right back. Coleman and Mykolenko are providing no threat whatsoever going forward. Hopefully Holgate's more defensive style would enable us to give Vinagre licence to fly down the left. I also think Gordon and Gueye both need some time out of the team, the upcoming fixtures look like a good opportunity to integrate Garner.

I never thought that after enduring Rafael at the start of last season Lampard would be worse, currently 5 points worse off this season than last season....

Lampard needs 5 points from the next 3 games or 8 points from the next 4 just to keep pace with Rafael.....
Oh turn it in ffs and get behind him instead of whining about the same crap

This rhetoric is pointless though

We went 1 win in 14 after a good start. Who cares where we are after 11 games. If we are behind after 22 games then its a valid point.

Not sure it’s an entirely fair comparison mate, didn't we go from Oct to Jan, picking up little or nothing after surprising early results. Was all down hill from Utd away, think that was the end of Oct.

Disappointed by tonights performance, Lampard claims it was good, I cant say the same... I`ve not said I`m not behind him, just pointing out that we are behind the run rate of the worst PL season anyone can remember and it doesnt show signs of improving, that may well change and I hope it does but I`m not sure what Lampards plans are.

We dont see anything from this team to suggest he has a plan for us i.e. back 4, back 5, passing style, high press or low block! Or do we just keep throwing players at him until it does work....

Lampard said: “The performance was OK, I thought it was a tightly contested game in general play. We weren’t clinical enough as we should have been considering how much we played through them.

“Against a good team, it was a close match in general play possession-wise. Disappointing that we didn’t have that more effect in the box as we could have drawn or won the game.

“The goal is sloppy from our point of view. It’s a transitional goal where we allow space on the edge of the box. It’s a quality goal but maybe there’s a decision that should have gone in our favour.”

You could almost say it was "Phenomenal"

Agree to a certain extent, after 22 games last season we had 22 points which means we need 12 points from the next 11 games....

We were getting results/points pre United, we could have got away with a point against them despite being poor for large parts, really speaking it’s only the last two we’ve looked out of sorts. It only takes a minor tweak to what we’ve done previous and we’ll get points on the board again

It was really, really poor.

Not sure how much is down to the set up and how much is down to our wingers being championship standard.

Dom was clearly not match fit yet so he gets some leeway but the midfield and forwards were horrible to watch.

Is he telling them to misplace passes and touches? No.

It was sloppy from start to finish.

We're you telling all the knobs last season to do the same in October?
I wasn’t giving the FSW pelters when he somehow proceeded to get us hammered at home by Watford 2 weeks after we were a VAR decision away from beating United, that came after we only won once in the subsequent 10 games without him doing anything to change matters
