So why were the club making statements before we sold richarlison that we had no issues with FFP after Leeds and Burnley were threatening legal action?
I don’t know - maybe advertising to potential buyers that we were desperate to sell out main asset wasn’t going to put us in an ideal bargaining position.

Richarlison wanted to go and only had two years left on his contract. It wasn’t in Lampard’s hands. He has referred a number of times to losing the goals from Richarlison and needing to add in that area. Came close to signing Kudus from Ajax and he’d have made a difference - when that fell through they didn’t get anyone else in and as soon as the transfer window closed, clearly scoring goals was going to be the big issue in the team. Importantly Lmpard said we it was important if we couldn’t get the right player we didn’t just bring someone in for the sake of it
I know what your sayin but I get feelings that’s exactly what we done with mcneil

It's a midtable team with the addition of a very good striker in January.

Top half of midtable I'm VERY doubtful of. I think there's an overestimation of the quality of our lot. Pickford, Gordon and the two CBs are about all the players we have who'd be considered top half of the table players.
OK...
