Yes no problem....

That win, no matter how good doesn`t make that much difference if the we don`t follow up on this result and that performance, 1 swallow doesn`t make a summer.

More frustratingly is that performance has been in them yet we`ve not done ourselves justice in the previous 3 games, had we played like that I`m sure we would have got something from those.

With that win Frank does over take Walter Smith win %, Franks is now 30%, Points Per Game (PPG) is still 1.10 and still 3rd worst behind Benitez and Walker but he still remains bottom of the lot for Goals Per Game.

I`m hoping this is the turn in our fortunes, these stats can change significantly if we keep putting on shows like we saw on Saturday.

@MikeH72

As I expertly mentioned in the relegation thread mate, this win will see us go down

Clearly Joe Royle picked up a worst scenario afetr Mike Walker and his stats are favourable, this isn`t a stick to beat anyone but a barometer of what has gone on previously, as you say a starting point!

Feel free to add some meat to the bones, or are you going to criticise but not want to put the effort in to research yourself?
I don’t need to research stats. They are meaningless when presented the way you have as there have been a wide range of regime shifts in the data presented.

My barometer is this:

Are we a better side than when lampard took over? Yes.
Is the manager and coaching team improving individual players? Yes.
Are the fans connected and engaged with the team? Yes.
Has he had enough time to implement his strategy and thus enough time to be judged? No.

The results are coming. We’ll remain inconsistent for a time. But he’s sorted the defence and midfield out in two windows with constraints around spending that hardly any of his predecessors had. A couple more windows and more time to implement what they’ve been coaching and we’ll be very good.

That’s a great analysis. I agree with it all!

And we as a fanbase need to not get carried away with the good results, nor to low with the bad ones. Most people would have taken 13-15th this season with no threat of relegation, then we strung together a good run and people started talking up a top half finish, then we got a few bad results and suddenly relegation was banded about again. We are neither a top side or a bottom three one.

Exactly. It’s early days but we are moving in the right direction.

Excellent stats! Here's some more for you!

Rafael Benitez's 31.82 win percentage as Everton manager is the lowest for a permanent Everton boss since Howard Kendall's third stint in charge of the club. Below him is the often reviled Mike Walker. Benitez's winning percentage is lower than Walter Smith, Ian Buchan, and of course our fearless leader Frank Lampard, coming in at 35.29. If Everton were to lose our next three games, Frank would STILL be above Rafael Benitez's winning percentage with a 32.43. Frank has done very well to improve the team after succeeding the worst Everton manager in possibly our entire history.
We are all behind Frank, everyone just wants a better Everton don`t they?

Just for reference when does "he succeeded the worst manager who we all hate" stop becoming an excuse for mediocrity?

I just bring myself to recall the last game I actually saw of the Benitez reign at Hull in the cup(I wasn’t present for his last hurrah the following week at Norwich thankfully!!)we had somehow managed to prevail in extra time against a woeful Hull and we’re in the midst of playing the most turgid football I had seen in my life of following them, went home feeling as low as a snakes belly,I could see no way forward, was convinced this would be “the” year we would finally drop,it was a horrific time to be a blue, now I see light, green shoots of recovery,a connection between manager, players and fans,a plan at long last, yes it will be rocky,of course it will, but I’m sticking with my man Frank, when we looked at the candidates,I don’t know, but I just felt he would fit us and so far by and large,he hasn’t let me down, stick by him and let’s see this develop.Up the Toffs?
