Is the fact that Alex Iwobi can suddenly play football to a professional standard not a sign?
No because while I applaud Frank for being the first manager of ours to not be an idiot in that area we are still losing more than we win, having absolutely shocking performances, not stringing together good performances (here's to hoping we get to two on Saturday), have a negative goal difference and are scoring less than a goal per game. It's still pretty rancid stuff.

Wouldn't it be easier for you to just not be an Everton fan? I don't understand what affiliation for the club keeps you with us.

Progress isn't usually a thing where you wake up and you're there. If we are going to get back to competing for Europe it'll take time building. If we're not doing that the timeline moves back. So you can say he needs this that and the other but for me there need to be signs the whole way.

What parts hasn’t he progressed?

Myko Tarks Coady Patterson > Kenny Holgate Keane Coleman - I’ll be shocked if we concede more goals this season than last season. So that’s defence improved both in quality of the starters and in depth (Mina Godfrey Holgate on bench when fit)

Onana Gueye Iwobi Garner Doucoure > Allan Gomes Doucoure Gbamin Davies Delph

The attack still needs some work but I don’t think it’s taken a massive backwards step from what he picked up.

Pickford is in the best form of his career
Iwobi is in the best form of his Everton career
Gordon is playing his best football for us under Lampard

The application of the players is better. The connection with the fans is better. The recruitment is getting better players in for better value and moving out the high earners.

Can you really not see any progress. Do you really think the club is in an equal or worse state now than it was when Lampard picked it up?

I want to see the team do better because they're the team I support. I'm not really sure what part of that makes you think I should not support them.

Palace game was anything but rancid!

I grant you that we are a bit inconsistent so far this season (although I think some of that is due to injuries and bedding in new players) but saying we are rancid just seems to be deliberately downbeat.

I will preface this by its up the manager to get performances.

But.

The difference in the performance from the players in for example the Newcastle game and the Palace game is night and day.

Nah the Palace game was a major exception so far. And if we do that for the next 3 games where we definitely can do it I will be optimistic, I promise.

You can't only blame the players at Newcastle. Howe had Frank's underwear pulled up over his head.

I think it's better because Benitez was toxic. I think the squad is better because we had money to actually spend. The first one is a reflection of Frank but also isn't something that will matter forever. The second isn't really about him at all.

When you look at tactics and performances no we aren't all that much better yet. To me it is a massive last three matches before the World Cup.

Agree it was the best so far this season but like others I’ve seen progress even in other games - especially in our defense. My heart rate when we are facing corners or a break is a lot lower!

Well you get zero enjoyment out of us, even when we win, and it would be so easy for you to just walk away, just seems strange. Your link to the club isn't any stronger than a link to say Villa or Real Madrid.

I mean at that point he'll have been here over twice as long. It's very generous.

Tbh I just want to see progress. We've not.
You want to see progress. Simple really, just start by looking at what division we're playing in this season.

then you just might start seeing all the positive's he's managed to bring back into the club/fanbase
