On course for 40 points. 4 of the last 5 games we've been very poor. Needs to find a way of playing, away from home especially, that gives us a chance to win games. Luck won't be with us in every match.

Me too. We have no ambition, and a draw and/or clean sheet is seen as a good result.
Frankly, it's a pathetic small club mentality that has held us back for decades.
Frank Lampard: "I will take the point. We got a lot of credit last week and today we were not at that level. People get excited by one performance last week but I don't. We are still in that process. It's a long road and we are in the early stages of it.”

We aren’t going from being one of the worst teams in the league to steam rolling people because we bought some good defensive players.

Thanks Mc Bain for the table. You have McNeil at 14.5 million rather than the usual figure of 20.00 million.

If that's true then it makes it a bit more reasonable a transfer.

The thing that annoys me is when the ball gets played out to our wide players and instead of having a go
the pass the ball backwards. I was brought up on Morrissey and Peter Thompson at LFC and they always
tried to make things happen. Mc Neil is slow, one-footed but has a decent centre if given time and a strong shot.
Still not worth 14.5 million.

I think theyve got it at 17m euros and works out to be 14.5m pounds. CBA doing all the add ons lol

After the three defeats when a few were panicking the main consensus was we needed at least 5 points from the four league games before the World Cup.

At this early stage in our rebuild from horror show to realising Lampard’s vision he’s prioritised being solid at the back and picking up points over style of the play.

We picked up 4 points, kept two clean sheets, barely conceded a clear chance at goal (mostly Mitrovic pot shots) and the home performance was the most enjoyable we’ve had for years.

We weren’t safe until game 37 was over last year and mostly played awful and leaked goals left and right. If this season sees us out of the picture for relegation and safe with a good six or seven games to go and sees us being solid every game and playing a bit of football at home then it’s been a good season heading in the right direction.

I'm just a little tired of the rhetoric. Sorry if I have no patience - we have 0 trophies to show for the last 27 years of patience and promises. I will likely be laid into the ground with the continual promise that we are still rebuilding with brighter days ahead.

I know these are first world problems, but I'm entirely entitled to my opinion that Lampard is a below average manager who will not amount to anything. His win rate and away record doesn't fill me with any confidence that we will see the transformation we need under him.

Happy to give him more time though to prove me wrong. But fact is we are still a couple of points off a relegation fight, and there is pressure on. The table doesn't lie, and it's right that we ask these questions.

Still fully behind Lampard. The results aren't anything to shout about and that is a bit of a concern currently but I think at some point in the season we will turn it around and end up with closer to 50 points than 40. And as frustrating as it is that this is how far we've fallen in recent seasons, it is progress from last season.

Lampard has work to do, but he showed with the signings in the summer and with the transformation of Iwobi that he can improve us. I think we can push for a top 10 place next season with some good additions in the summer.

After last season we were never going to turn into a top side over the summer . Consolidate our place in the league this season without a relegation battle . We have improved defensively , got rid of a few wasters on big wages, were linked with other promising young players who are the type of players we need. Next summer we will improve offensively if the manager and thelwell are let do their jobs.
The majority of fans are behind the team again.
There will be bad results but we need to give the current management structure time.

5 points from this 4 game run would be a very poor return. After a run of favourable fixtures like this will follow a run of tougher games where we will struggle to get 1 or 2 points from a 4 game run so you need to cash in on these easier fixtures. That being said a win against Palace and a draw away at Fulham is a good return. If we get 4 points from Leicester and Bournemouth we will be well positioned probably with a 4 or 5 point cushion over the bottom 3 with a good fixture at home to Wolves after the break

What concerned me yesterday was that second half performance. I was fairly happy at half time but that lack of intent in the second half was embarrassing. We are not going to win away games with this attitude which will pile the pressure on our home fixtures. We need to go for it against Bournemouth

Some won't have that though.

Worst defence in the league last season. 5th best so far this (Newcastle have conceded 10 goals to our 12 for instance).

You are entitled to your opinion, but I’m just countering it

Last year we lose that, with ease.

We all know, including the management team, where the issue is. It’s up to Thelwell to sort it
