Devils advocate here though, didnt Villa get hammered last week?
This was Emery's first game, and probably had a limited influence on the game. However, Emery is a proven manager, who is considered one of the better managers. Those who watched Aston Villa today, and have watched Emery's team over the years, could immediately recognize that this was an Emery team.

That doesn't mean this is guaranteed success, but it seems like a far more rational choice for a club that wants to develop, than hiring uncertain cards like Steven Gerrard, Lampard, etc., and who haven't proven anything over a longer period.

Jesus Christ. Mykolenko is 23, he’s been around for years, has got about 30 international caps and a load of CL experience. We’re hardly sticking an academy lad in. On the other side we’re playing Coleman, who is most assuredly not young or inexperienced.

The thing with Mykoleno is as well, is he doesnt look like hes going to get miles better. He looks an honest, if a bit limited pro.

na
just just upfront
Conceded more shots on our goal than any other Premier League team, only in 1 game have we kept this to single figure attempts on our goal and that was the Palace game. Leicester, Fulham have had over 20 in the last 2 games....

Much more than the attack not functional at the moment....

How did an Emery team set up at Arsenal, when they went backwards and they wanted him sacked?

I seem to remember you making these same points about Bielsa, and why he was a better manager than Ancelotti. Would you care to inform me who won the CL last season?

and sacking a manager the way we have been off and on the field isn’t the solution

i mean look at southampton they’ve had
ralphy a few years and they’re crap

lampard hasn’t give him a chance

Big up to the people trying to defend this current mess.

For the record, I dont want him sacked, im not Lampard out, but you cant defend the results, you simply cant.

People point out at what Eddie Howe has done, hes done it with a lesser squad for me.

Again, in not Lampard out and I still believe he needs more time, but you wont see me tying myself in knots making excuses for what is quite frankly, a mess.

Don't think we're particularly great in any area of the pitch, but I do believe that if we had wingers who actually offered a threat we'd see the number of shots faced start to come down. Because opposition teams would have to take fewer risks, be a bit more cautious etc.

I know that's kinda intangible at the moment, but it does feel like we're playing with 9/10 men sometimes because the wide men have been so ineffectual.
