We have 3 out injured and more playing terribly.
He's dead right to change it and see what we can learn. They have done the very same thing.
I dont care if they pick 11 from their under 16s tbh. I care what we do and we aren't good enough to send out that sort of team and win away at a top flight team. Benitez did it last year and it was disrespectful for me. And I dont feel any different tonight.

Begovic - Always plays in the cups
Patterson - Usually first choice so no idea why anyone would moan about this
Vinagre - Cup full-back
Centre halves - Wouldn't have swapped both out personally
Davies - In for injured Gana
Doucoure - In for the injured Onana
Garner - People asking him to start for a while now
Gordon - Usually first choice
Maupay - In for injured Dom

The only swaps I wouldn't have done were at centre half but whatever.

We have a squad for a reason . Its been used tonight. As it should be . The so called starters aren't exactly brilliant.

Do you think 30 games for an inexperienced manager is enough time to turn this club around? Would you prefer we jump back on the merry go round?
Where in my post did I suggest it was enough time? Where did I suggest we jump back in on the merry go round? I am all for Frank getting the full season and, er, frankly, next season too. But right now - he's treading water. Big time. And it's high time his fanboys admitted he's not exactly pulling up trees.

Pickford the only one I'm disappointed over

We have a 6 week break and have no European football. There is absolutely no need for changes other than for injury. We are nowhere near good enough to make this many changes and expect to beat top flight opposition

I called out Benitez for it and I'm not going to give Lampard a free pass for exactly the same thing. Its disrespectful to the competition and to the fans who have went down there on a Tuesday night

When our first team is not all that more convincing than our second, then it's much and muchness. Yeah, the goalkeeper and central defence are irreplaceable, but other than that I don't think there's too much to fret over. That doesn't mean we won't contrive to embarrass ourselves tonight - but it's not as if the "first team" wouldn't manage to step on a rake tonight either. I'm critical of Frank at the best of times, but I'm not knocking that team tonight. The lads dropped or rested hardly made a compelling case for inclusion. This is a chance for others to get into a team that gives reserves a glimmer of hope on a weekly basis. We're not playing well enough to indulge in a settled side.

Wouldn't agree at all. Squad players need to play games.
