We literally can't be miles better if we have no goals. Being good at the stuff that doesn't matter in football does not win points.
If you can’t see the difference than tbh I don’t think you know football very well.

We have depth coming in midfield and defence. We are going to be solid. We were playing the team that finished 3rd last year when we finished 16th. We had our main striker out and lost 2 key players to injury. And they did really get close to scoring aside from a pen.

We lacked a striker and I’ve no doubt we’ll be getting a forward in.

We’ll be sound. But feel free to panic if you want.

I can see an improvement in the right areas and I can see a strategy.

'Full Control ' and its still debatable if Moshiri is doing that, means no outside influences from non football people
Simply wouldn't work if Kev and Frank don't work together on who improves the team. Ultimately Frank picks the team, so no point Kev going out on his own for someone the manager won't play

What’s the point having a director of football if the manager just picks all the players anyway?

Did nothing wrong. His hands were tied by the board not backing him in the market for a striker. We ran out of ideas in the last half hour and that was disappointing.

Of course, if he wants to play more possession based football he's going to have to add a few players who can be trusted to keep the ball and draw fouls when they get into trouble. And he needs that striker. It's a pity Alli is washed up as he'd have been a real asset.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with this feller. He may just end up a frustrating figure for us through no real fault of his own.

Some of you are so weird

Starting on Lampard and Thelwell because of freak injuries and a loss against Chelsea of which we actually played quite well

We lost the game, so fin what move onto the next one of which I have a lot more faith in we can actually get a result

Who’s starting on Lampard apart from @Toff33Blues99?

I like everything the manager is trying to do. I am number one founding member of the Lampard fan club. But there is only so much he can do. Everything positive he introduces is for nothing if the club do not provide him with goalscorers. If you do not score goals you will not stay up.

Good summary on the state of the Everton nation after the first game in his interview.
Much better performance, with a striker it would of been a different game, let’s hope he gets what he (& we) know we need this week.

"Could pay him billions. Wont change a thing."

You are saying it doesn't matter how much or who. What else cud the above mean

Not who. How much. We payed millions to previous managers and they struggled. Could have paid them billions or millions aswell. Were you questioning their salary?

Frank can only work with what he’s got but none of it matters, he or Gerrard will be the first sacked this season. Both are vastly overrated managers and we all know why (hint: they’re English media darlings).

In reality, Lampard and Gerrard wouldn’t look out of place managing the likes of Middlesbrough or Reading.

I like Lampard. He’s got some good ideas and obviously still has a big passion for the game. But I can’t help but feel its jobs for the boys. What exactly qualifies Frank as a Premier League head coach?

I would love us to hire a tactician who’s reputation trajectory is already on the increase. A shrewd managerial appointment, just for a change. Carlo is world class. But he was never a good fit for us simply because we’re not a club who has the pull of Real Madrid or Milan when recruiting players.

The Fat Spanish Waiter was just a horrendous appointment from start to finish. He’s a dinosaur and an ex Kopite. Was never going to end well.

I just don’t think Lampard is good enough to manage Everton Football Club. Sometimes, when you dismantle everything; it really is that simple.
