-84 goal difference by easter, yet every one of our players is phenomenal and amazing and incredible. ?
Barkley would be back on loan too.

I fear you may well be correct....Thelwell would appoint the next fella or certainty have a big say in the decision imo.
Giving *all* the squad players a runout *with* a new formation was a mistake. It was hardly the plan to lose 4-1, was it. FL gave the squad players an opportunity to stake a claim, they didn't and he basically said they're not good enough to be first team players here. Should he have picked the strongest 11 possible? Clearly there is an argument for that, but he made the call, it's on him, now he has to vindicate that choice with a win on Saturday.

I never like changing from 4 to 3/5 at the back "for one game," or when a manager throws on an extra CB in the 80th minute, is bad. When the back line is most under stress the defenders need to know their jobs from training and muscle memory. These hadn't played in a long time so to throw them into that spot all at once and then have them play an unfamiliar scheme was setting up to fail, literally.
Also having Doucore and Davies playing together in that setup has failed every time.
Not to excuse the individual or collective performances which were atrocious. But it *might* have been ok to go with 3 CB's with some first-teamers in the side for continuity, *or* do some like for like swaps with our current setup, ie Davies for Gana or Vinagre for Myko might have been all right (formation wise, no excusing that butchered chance).
My brother texted me "are they trying to lose?" The best I can do is to think that FL wanted to give all the scrubs a shot, it sounded like they'd been whining about playing time so he gave them a shot and there are 3 CBs so he put them all in. From his comments it was, "ok, you want to play, show me," and it also was probably a shot to the board, "look at what you're making me play with." But again that's inviting failure, almost out of spite it seems.
Going to Bournemouth to play 5ATB is brutal. It's worse than anything Sam did in terms of negative football. It just sends the side out there with a loser mentality. Then as the errors compound and Frank throws them under the bus, not that they don't deserve it but he's foremost to blame... that Leicester game was tough but I don't know if the team was dispirited. The morale must have plummeted overnight. That we're going to Bournemouth in a game that's a must win just to get back to a non-toxic mindset.... this was a self-inflicted wound. Especially since this is the silverware that is most attainable and if you polled us right now and said "finish 16th and win the League Cup" we'd snap your hand off.
I back Frank but this is his biggest botch ever.
Lack of effective team press higher up the pitch. We concede a stupid amount of chances - we've had the most shots against us in the entire league.
That problem to me is mostly down to structure and the main blame there falls on Lampard.
However, only Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester City have conceded fewer goals than us.
The credit there mostly belongs to Pickford and Tarkowski - they've saved or blocked close to 100 shots already this season. There's not a pairing in the Premier League that comes close to that, something is blatantly fundamentally wrong in the way Lampard is setting us up.

So..... we're going to re-hire a bloke who nearly got us relegated and who took the owner to court over his payoff, then we're going to sack him again a little bit down the line with another payoff, and re-hire the bloke we passed over a few times previously who is currently in a settled job at a stable club? Makes perfic sense. ?I suspect we end up with Martinez in January and then Moyes leading us into BMD.
Do those lads allow as many shots on goal? It's the Big Sam / Steve Bruce tactic of defending deep and keeping it tight and hoping to snatch a goal.
Nothing to do with football, I meant you didn't appear to be understanding what I was saying. I wasn't even trying to be snarky, you said the other day you were wumming and I had no idea because it didn't appear to be any different to your usual posting, so I thought maybe that was a regular thing.Apologies your football lordship

and look what happened there. A new manager came in and the players they thought were muck can actually play football.Steve Bruce's team did.
