No guarantee that we will get someone who does.. we have been trying for years since lukaku left .
We need to stop comparing strikers to lukaku. We lucked out getting him but at that time we were regularly challenging for Europe. But most clubs mid table, and certainly teams at the level we have been over the last few years, don't have strikers anywhere near that ability.

20 goal a season strikers are rare, and there's usually only 2/3 a season and they are nearly always at a top 4/6 team. (Last season, 8 players scored 15+ and only vardy played for a non top 6 team (vardy has been an outlier for years)).

Right now, a 10-15 goal a season striker is what we need backed up by a 6-8 goal striker (with a couple of wingers who will get 5/6 each) and we will need to accept that for a while as just a steady contribution. And that they may have a season where they score 15, but then another season they may score only 10.

We aren't getting a prolific goal scorer unless we luck out. They don't exist for us right now because the top teams pick them up.

We won't get 3 attacking players in January.
We need to add goals to the current squad.
That's up the management

Frank wanted a striker so him and Thelwell went and got Maupay........

Frank wanted a winger so he and Thelwell went and got McNeil....

Those saying give Frank time to bring his own forward players are living on cloud cuckoo, paid over £30m for these and I`d still play Gordon/Gray over McNeil and Rondon over Maupay....

He has had forward replacements but they decided on ?

I'd live with a Radzinski and a Marcus Bent style signings at this moment in time. I guess Maupay fits this bracket

Saw your post earlier about Holgate, Mina and Keane being up for sale in Jan.

Anyone else of the current squad? From media sources?

He achieved in Germany in a 2 horse race...then PSG in a 1 horse race.

Didnt he lose the dressing room at chelsea and bar winning the champs leagud upon joining wasnt his team doing much the same as under Lampard?
He won the champions League with Chelsea. Almost all managers "lose the dressing room" eventually, otherwise clubs wouldn't be changing manager every other week. He is a better manager by any metric. Again, not saying I want lampard gone, but tuchel is a better manager.

It's creativity we need, sort that and the goals will come

Asides from Wobes, we have nothing going forward. We could have Haaland upfront and he'd struggle as we give the forwards we have nothing to feed on.

Have to address that in January. Everything else is secondary to getting that creative player.

Who that would be is another question, but I'm sure someone on here will have realistic (and some unrealistic) suggestions...

For example against Leicester we were pressing with the midfield moving up but the wingers and backline weren't. So space opens in between the lines which is exactly what pressing attempts to avoid. You press with the whole XI (or ten I suppose but the keeper does need to sweep up sometimes).
This is due to indiscipline and half arse press. To do this effectively the whole team need to anticipate and read the game well and compliment with hard working attitude. No other way.

The defence need to play higher line but not sure if we have pacy defender for this.

Which is why the front 6 is extremely important. A high energy midfield trio should not get overrun like we did, the main problem is lack of cohesion in team pressing.

Unfortunately I think you are right on the first point. But I think it's a bloody hard gig to get more goals out of the current crop.

Maybe set pieces could be worked on, but none of our players have really had a solid goals record throught their careers, excluding strikers, and even that isn't astonishing bar Dom's better seasons.

Our midfielders would need a serious transformation to be chipping in regular goals. That Tom Davies miss horrified me.

I agree about the creativity we need. But what worries me is these links to wolves podence. He ain’t the level we need to push up the table. They need to stop with must need for PL experience. That kudus boat looks to have sailed but they are types of deals I want us to make.
