Best be some tough questions asked here.

Do you regret fielding that team on Tuesday?

Will we see those players again?

What about the Gordon rumour?

How badly does the club need to recruit a striker?

Do you fear losing your job if the team loses tomorrow?
He will love that question as it will give him a chance to sound like a fan and talk about players being crap.

The fateful decision not only to find Richarlisons replacement, but also identify suitable upgrades on Gray/Gordon and a decent second striker is negligent at best.

To return with Dwight McNeil is inexcusable
Some of us said so at the time in the summer, others are seeing that in hindsight...

If he really is prevaricating on that I'd rather see the back of him now so we get someone in who will get a couple of attackers in.

I thought he pretty much said, he knows scoring is a problem, they were going to try and be active in January and we are badly missing Richarlison.

Selling Richarlsion has really sunk our battle ship, hasnt it, like i said at the time he was worth 80mill+ to us, its proving to be an awful deal.

Reminds me of the time, Brands sold Idrissa, signed a load of rubbish midfielders and absolutely hung Marco Silva out to dry and essentially ended his Everton career.

Didn't like his interview. Didn't like his attitude, and don't like that he won't admit he got it wrong.

Lampard on whether he has any regrets on Tuesday nights result and team selection:
"We lost a game, in terms of selection then no.
"We haven't at this point got a squad to compete in the cup or three times a week.
"It didn't happen so it's done now and we move on to tomorrow."

What sort of attitude is this? We had 2 midweek cup games between August and mid November. How can we not cope

Lose tomorrow and he should go because the issues this week were self inflicted

I dont think hes necessarily wrong though mate.

You don't need a huge squad to be able to compete in 2 extra games, 1 of which was against league 1 opposition. It's an excuse, and a rubbish excuse.

You'd think our players were being run into the ground every tuesday night from the way he's talking. Three quarters of them are about to have 6 weeks off and a trip to Sydney for some sun. How will they possibly ever cope

So the extended squad isn't good enough to compete with league 1 opposition is what you are saying, your are agreeing with him ultimately mate.

Don't think I explicitly said that, but no I don't trust the fringe players against any opposition of any level, because several of them not only lack quality, but lack hunger and determination.

My point however was that you don't need a large squad for this few games. You don't need rotation for 2 matches. Our best side should be on the pitch every single game.

I take your point but "We haven't at this point got a squad to compete in the cup or three times a week." isn't that about right? Our first eleven is struggling so playing two or three times a week is going to stretch them.

It's a fair point if we play most or all midweeks like a team in europe or a championship club.

The fact is that we have had two extra games in this competition. TWO.

He's making excuses because everyone who follows the club knows he picked a side that had no hope of winning away at top flight opposition.

I guarantee you he will field stronger sides in meaningless friendlies over the break. That's how big a farce this is. Anyone defending his selection needs to get a grip

I thought he was giving players a last chance to inpress him before thr window. Is no excuse that team getting beat like that. I agreed with the changes some forced like the ones in midfield but he give the cb a chance to show what they have and failed again.
