G.A.A. 2025.

First weekend of the new rules and it's fair to say they're going to get a bit of getting used to.

A free brought forward 50 yards is too severe imo and the 2 pointer I don't think is needed. The 3v3 is going to be chaos in club games.

The tap and go isn't bad but all in all I don't think any of the rules have added greatly to the spectacle, yes it's the first week and maybe as people adapt they'll work better.

Two rounds in and it's obvious that the new rules and the weather don't mix well. Saint Jim and the anointed are going to have address how disastrous they'll be at club and underage level.

Brilliant game in Tralee this evening. Wind advantage had a big impact but Dublin were excellent in the 2nd half, very patient. Kerry probably didn't do enough to build a lead in the first half.

Dublin might want to start pumping the ball in for the 1 v 1's but won tonight anyway. Eoghan O'Donnell was excellent at FF. Someone needs to nail down that midfield slot soon though.

Some very promising signs from done if the youngsters, Clancy did well on Clifford when he came on, Breatnach is a bit special, McElaney did well.

Feel for Gannon, hopefully not serious.

The new rules were interesting tonight, Dubs with 2, 2 pointers to hunt Kerry down, last year we probably leave Tralee with a loss.
I think they've been mostly positive so far, I'm not convinced the attacking mark is a good innovation. Seems like too big a reward.

I think teams not sprinting back into their own 45 after an attack breaks down but instead trying to win the ball back by tackling is a great, I hope it continues into the championship.

Not too sure on the 2 pointer, if it's going to be left in maybe only have it from play. Tapping over a wind assisted two pointer really devalues trying to work a goal now.

In theory it should be creating space in front of the goals as defenders come out to stop the 2 pointer, but yeah is it throwing out the baby with the bathwater?

Kicking over the bar from 40 yards is no mean feat in and of itself either.

Kicking over from 40 is definitely no mean feat but tapping over an uncontested free, wind assisted and straight in front of the nets shouldn't be a 2 point reward.

Under the new scoring a 10 point lead is no longer a safe lead as Dublin and Derry showed last night and Down showed against Cork in the round before.

A lot more high scoring matches but is that for the better?
