On reflection mate, I probably shouldn’t have wildcarded at all , my team didn’t need it. Think my biggest mistake was brining in Son, went for the name and trying to get all the big highest scoring players in as opposed to sticking with Bowen who was more then fine and who has actually bettered Son since. Son inevitably led to downgrades elsewhere and my keepers are weaker now. Selling Tsmikas for Pau over the last two weeks was bad as well. I didn’t go with my instinct either -that was telling me to bring in Kudus but bottled that to run with the crowd.
My team is terribly template now so it’s hard to make up ground. I going to have to try and rejig in the new year I think, once the Xmas programme is out of the way.
Overall I’d have been better doing nothing. I suppose the lesson learned is you can’t own everyone and if you try the compromises can undermine your team enough that the player you are brining in, isn’t the value you think. Also trust yourself instead of fear of not having the template, or a certain player.
My take home anyway.
