Cork 2-18 Limerick 1-16, Cork won that's the main thing, but a lot of improvement is needed for the quarter finals. Obviously it's going to be a massacre against Dublin or Kerry, unless there's a huge improvement.

I'd like to think we'd have some hope against Galway or Derry, but we need to improve massively from both today and the Louth game!

Still though we were down to 14 men and got the win, and by staying up in division two and reaching the quarter finals, we've achieved our objectives for the year.

Decent match between Cork and Limerick. Scorline maybe flatters Cork a bit, Limerick put in a strong performance. Hard to see Cork in the semifinals based on today. Cork way to easy to score against.
There was a story in Brian Corcorans autobiography about that championship football game against Clare in Ennis in 1997, when Martin Daly got that last second goal to knock Cork Out.

Clare knocked Cork out of the hurling earlier that summer as well, and a happy Clare fan waving his Clare flag, yelled into Corcorans face ye can't beat us in nothing nothing!

The point being Limerick lording it right now over Cork in hurling is one thing, but them knocking us out of the football, would have been a case of plunging in the knife and twisting it.

Cork are a long way off the top teams for sure. I'd give us a chance against Galway or Derry though. Dublin or Kerry then no not at all. We'd be doing well only to lose by single digits really.

Armagh superb. Feel sorry for Seamus watching from the stands. His brother is the image of him.
The years ending in two have been kind to Donegal 1992 and 2012, but not so much 2022 obviously. I can't believe it's been 10 years, since the whole Jim is winning matches thing.

So we have Cork and play the winner of Kerry and Mayo - unless Cork put manners on us.

Hope its in PUC - been dying for a trip down there. Wont be though i know.

  • Galway v Armagh
  • Kerry v Mayo
  • Dublin v Cork
  • Derry v Clare

Congrats mate, knew yee would have a great year after the first game in the league. be wary of yee.

What a chance now to make a final, long way to go, be a cracking game VS Galway.
The way I’m looking at is that we have a QF and possibly a SF against 2 teams who are certainly no better than us. Could not ask for more than that at this stage.

No chance of that i'm afraid, although hopefully Cork can give a decent account of themselves. My most memorable games against Dublin, were the 2010 and 1995 all Ireland semi finals.

Even though Cork lost, i have fond memories of watching that 1995 Cork v Dublin game. I was only five when Cork beat Dublin in that 1989 all Ireland semi final, so i would have no memories of that sadly.

The way i see it we had a great summer weather wise in 1995, and of course we were basking in the afterglow of Everton winning that years FA Cup final as well.

I think i'd have Armagh, as dark horses for the all Ireland now after Dublin and Kerry. I can't believe that 2002 all Ireland win for Armagh, is nearly twenty years ago now.

The Cork v Dublin game is fixed for Saturday 25th at 6pm. I don't think Cork will win, but i hope Cork give the Dubs a better and more competitive game, than what they faced in Leinster.

Galway and then Derry or Clare in a semi final, and once you get to a final anything can happen.

I'd have Armagh as third favourites for the all Ireland now, after Dublin and Kerry. I've given up on Mayo ever winning the all Ireland after last year.lol

Dublin are only carrying that favourites tag due to previous years. Armagh beat them comfortably enough in a challenge game about 4 weeks ago and they are not the team of old.

I think everyone on the Ulster side of the draw will be cheering on Mayo.
