Do you think Dessie the right man for the job? I bought Dublin The Chaos Years for the kindle. It's a great read so far. Keith Barrs contributions to the book are very entertaining!lol
The age profile of Dublin is the biggest issue for them. Just like Trappatoni, succession planning was by the by.

Still, get a FB who can take a high ball and they are still top tier.

I loved him as a player but I am afraid he seems a bit out of his depth - yes it was close, but Gavin would have steered us through comfortably.

Anyway Rovers have brightened me up!!

Colm McGurk RIP. I was there in 93 when they broke our hearts in the Semi Final and went on to win the Sam.

Another gone far too young.
Two members of the Cork team that Derry beat in that 1993 all Ireland final are also deceased. John Kerins the goalkeeper, and Mick McCarthy who was the captain.

So that's three players from both of those panels gone to their eternal reward now. Of course Derry's manager that year Eamonn Coleman is also sadly deceased. May they all RIP.

A truly great team. I'm from Limerick and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever witness a team that would stand comparison to any in hurling history. We always had some gifted hurlers, but never enough. In our better sides, we might have had two or three genius level hurlers, five or six good inter-county players, and then we'd be reduced to packing the rest of the team with club hurlers and mulloughers. That was never enough.

This team is astounding. Imagine Barcelona without Messi. I suppose you could say that was Spain in 2008-2012. That was Limerick this season without Cian Lynch - except Spain knew they didn't have Messi to call on. Our lads didn't and still proved indestructible under the most immense pressure from a gutsy Kilkenny who lived up to all their great traditions of dogged resolve. Galway and Clare also put it right up to us. This was hard-earned. Sweeter for all that.

I can die happy.

I meant to pay tribute to Cody stepping down. Incredible record of 11 All Irelands. Ruthless when needed but actually a very nice and humble man away from the cauldron of matches.

Ironic if Sheff gets the job after the bad blood recently but I think unlikely.

Big fella for Galway with the pony tail. Giving silly free kicks left right and centre.

Always plonkers with mad barnetts [Poor language removed] up my bets.

Stuck 50 brick on G G G GALWAY
Congrats to Kerry. Incredible and so warming to see Pat Spillane in tears talking about his Dad. He had me in tears watching this.. Brought so many memories about my own Cavan Dad and how proud he was of that county. GAA is wonderful in terms of uniting people despite our differences.

Dubs have always had the height of respect for Kerry despite getting our behinds kicked many times. Always enjoyed the banter with them.

They despise us rover. Dont give em an inch!

Galway were 2 points up there with 15 to go. They had then on the ropes but got a nose bleed.
