Happy to have talks with us (a club thats finished between 8th & 12th the last 4 seasons and had no europe)
But will not agree anything as there are bound to be better offers out there, we are literally a last resort!

I think maybe we need to take a step back and maybe be abit more savvy with our targets, we are trying to sign CL ready players with no European football/

Southampton just bought a centre back who has the potential to be good for 10 million, basically had 0 competition for his signature!
Do we need to go for players the tier below?

It depends what you mean by 'taking a step back.' I think we absolutely have to go for players who are champions league level, or just about to be. We have to aim high. By all accounts, Brands is somebody who does. Ancelotti is someone who helps us pull it off. Digne and Kean are obvious examples of aiming high and pulling it off. Not many people thought they would have come to us at the time.

The important piece is what happens if it doesn't come off. How long do we wait around? What's plan B? It needs to be a lot smarter than a bid for Iwobi.

Yeah I think this is the case, we seen it as an opportunity.If Brands pulls it off fair play but if he doesn’t he looks incredibly stupid.

Get this fella gone and a proper DOF in who knows what to do. Bloke still thinks he's DOF of one of the big 3 in the bum Dutch league.

The only hope I have for the rumours being from Italy is because of Carlo and his son obviously, maybe wishful thinking but I remember it was Italian journo that was saying Ancelotti has met Usmanov and is going to Everton while English journos were telling us to be happy with Moyes and know are level

Nobody knows if hes the next Thiago Silva or the next Per Kroldrup.

And you'd be the first to lambast Brands if we paid big money and he ended up being a dud
