time to move on from him then, on to the next CB target

That makes no sense though, I'm no director of football but if you wanted a young, up and coming centre back and couldn't get him why would your next target be essentially a journeyman centre back rather than another young up and coming centreback?

Prob cos the price and ancellotti knows him. Never heard of him as I don't watch Italian footy. I'd he a regular or just a squad player. And is he any good?

Cheap gap bridge for a year , we do seem to love buying players as if we feel we have to spend the money, just look at iwobi. We could have saved that money until January.

I think Lille and Napoli are running some very weird stories.

Napoli can't buy unless a non EU player is sold so example if City buy Koulibaly or we buy Allen.

Lille have just had FFP issues and using with the agreed €60m Osimhen deal from Napoli which they can't complete because they have to sell 2 non EU players if they are going to sign Gabriel.and Koulibaly.

Simply we should agree a deal on Allen and sign Gabriel up before he can go to Napoli

Have to take the Gabriel rumours with a pinch of salt till its announced.

It makes no sense

€20mil everton offer is rejected because of a gentlemans agreement with Napoli.

But if Napoli dont buy him (rendering that gentlemans agreement irrelevant) someone else will.

What a fake story.

That's what it says.

If we are being honest shouldn't we have the gentleman's agreement seeing as we've been in negotiations with them since January/February?

Also I thought they were just after selling to the highest bidder because of ffp?

So which is it? A gentalmans agreement or sale to the highest bidder?

Personally I think the longer this goes on the more certain I am that he's coming here. The less that we are mentioned and the more story's there are about other teams the more I'm certain that we are the only team with a solid offer/intrest for the lad and this is just lille/agents trying to force things.

Isn't Koulibaly french too, He was born in France and played for their u-20 national team I think :)

Here in Northern Ireland we used to have “talks about talks”; political parties would get together and hold talks about what they were going to talk about once talks began. Everton seem to have taken that idea one step further and we now seem to be holding negotiations about what we are going to negotiate about once the negotiations begin.
Everton buying a player is a bit like a Middle East peace negotiation. I can see a time when we open talks with a club for a player and by the time we commit he has retired and put his feet up, a bit like our current midfield.

He's a squad player and that's what he's be here as well.

The whole point of getting gabriel is the be able to play a high line and be a starter. I've not seen alot of him but I don't think he's better then mina imo.
