Transfer Rumour Gabriel (Lille)

Here in Northern Ireland we used to have “talks about talks”; political parties would get together and hold talks about what they were going to talk about once talks began. Everton seem to have taken that idea one step further and we now seem to be holding negotiations about what we are going to negotiate about once the negotiations begin.
Everton buying a player is a bit like a Middle East peace negotiation. I can see a time when we open talks with a club for a player and by the time we commit he has retired and put his feet up, a bit like our current midfield.
This is what happens when we have a tea and biscuits director of football.
He only has cheap talk, until deadline day where he rushes around panicking.

If we are being honest shouldn't we have the gentleman's agreement seeing as we've been in negotiations with them since January/February?

Also I thought they were just after selling to the highest bidder because of ffp?

So which is it? A gentalmans agreement or sale to the highest bidder?

Personally I think the longer this goes on the more certain I am that he's coming here. The less that we are mentioned and the more story's there are about other teams the more I'm certain that we are the only team with a solid offer/intrest for the lad and this is just lille/agents trying to force things.
All very good points. Lets hope he comes

Dimarizo is very hit and miss. What club declines on offer based on a gentleman's agreement with another club to sell a player. They are simply looking for more money

Didn’t we think we had a gentleman’s agreement with Dan Gosling and then lost him on a free?

Sums up Bill Kenwright for you. An atrocious chairman.

Read Carlo's book. He disregarded "gentlemen's agreements" to jump out of jobs he had already accepted. I'll see if I can find it.

There is a signature on a dotted line or there is nothing.

Thought this was going to happen, but clear now he’s waiting on Napoli and Napoli are waiting in Koubialy, who will likely go to Man City.

If he wanted us, it would have already happened by now. I just hope we have a good plan B, C, D & E this time around, unlike last year being Zouma or nothing and that screwed us over.
