so we could get him but decided to start low balling so other teams can potentially get him. Really not arsed about a CB I think it's very low on our list for me at least.

Didn't that report say he was at Finch Farm? I'm assuming if he was doing that we were pretty close to agreeing with Lille and if we went back on that they may be using their already ongoing negotiations with Napoli over a different player to show more interest and make us move.

It's a bit of a guess but transfer business is so dumb I think it's plausible.

From everything ive read about Brands he doesnt negotiate.

He puts the money on the table and walks away.

Maybe Holgate made us change our mind.
 

Think if we get him or any other CB then Keane will go in the summer. I think the likes of Gibson and Branthwaite are fine 4th and 5th choice backups unless either or both are going out on loan. We either buy someone this summer and ship Keane out or else renew his contract next season and go with what we’ve got.

I can’t see him getting a new contract. I always thought he would go if we got a CB in, but at least he says fit, unlike Mina.

I suppose it depends which one we can sell on for a decent fee. But I wouldn’t be fussed either way

I disagree. I think Keane/Mina and the weak midfield forces us to defend deep. And Ancelotti wants to be able to push further up the pitch. Also technically they are good, but not fantastic.

when you see an 18yr using both feet and picking out a couple of fantastic balls down the left hand side. and took out their midfield in the process. Just shows what’s need at the back in the modern game. With so many teams pressing defenders now.

Said he visited finch farm in February.

Dont know if you're on about a different report though
