I disagree. I think Keane/Mina and the weak midfield forces us to defend deep. And Ancelotti wants to be able to push further up the pitch. Also technically they are good, but not fantastic.

when you see an 18yr using both feet and picking out a couple of fantastic balls down the left hand side. and took out their midfield in the process. Just shows what’s need at the back in the modern game. With so many teams pressing defenders now.

Quicker defenders pushes the defence up, with leaves a smaller gap between midfield, who have been able to sit higher which means the gap from mid-att isnt big anymore.

higher you are the more options you'll have on the ball (if you have decent players ofcourse)

Someone was claming he'd had a medical at pall mall which i think is along the east lancs towards Haydock? the name of the area is escaping me.

I'm content (not ecstatic) with Keane, Mina, Holgate and Branthwaite. I get what you're saying but a counter argument would be is that our defence is already overworked because of how easy our midfield is to run through. Just yesterday Grealish did it 3 or 4 times; just ran past Gomes and Davies like they weren't there.

I think we need two centre midfielders, a winger and a right back before we start spending money on a centre back. I'd probably want a new goalkeeper before another centre back too.

We can do better there but we currently have far bigger problems elsewhere is what I'm saying.

There is a pall mall just after old hall Street in Liverpool city centre. on the other side of the main road which runs from the pier head to Scotland road

I would be spending every penny we have on the midfield, we are ok in defence.

All about priorities. We’ll never compete with the midfield we have now. We need at least two in the middle and one wide before considering anything else imo. I’d throw keeper in there as well but I’m sadly resigned to that not happening.

Depends who you believe. There was a user on here (with a previous accurate claim, supposedly worked at the place) that he had a medical with us in January. I think his claim came before any of the rags'.

100%! honestly if we throw Lewis Gibson in the mix I would be ok (as I say almost every year) to leave the CB position and use the money for what we need..this year my list is longer.. not just a striker and rW but our whole midfield needs replacing.. and bring Kenny home.
