This is all a bit 'knee-jerk'. We lose match and it's because the players don't care enough? No, we lose it because they aren't good enough. I'm sure that, just like everyone else who's ever played football, each player would like to win and have a good game. Tom Davies may be rubbish, but i'm sure he wishes he wasn't. That goes for all the rest of them. Incidentally, i notice that the youngsters tend to get excused form the 'they can't be bothered' vitriol. I didn't see today's game but against Southampton i thought that Anthony Gordon was terrible (over hit passes, ran into blind alleys, generally ran around like a headless chicken and did nowt). Is it somehow seen as particularly diloyal to criticise a youngster (and is that why DCL still has such good will)?
