Gang of [edit] erm, wimps.

Everton without a doubt has turned into an Club that offers an easy payday for average players. Recruitment has been awful, certainly in the latter part of Martínez reign, under walsh...and elements of the last two years...

Under Moyes we’d still lose big and important games but at least you couldn’t fault the effort of the sides and the characters of ‘most’ of the players he signed.

If Ancelotti can’t be the the starting point to improve professionalism and standards then we have no chance. I think we have seen players like sigurdsson, schneiderlin(thankfully gone), delph, iwobi, Pickford etc just not seemingly committed to the side - and then you have some players such as Davies who are just nowhere near the required standard.

Looking in from the outside it just seems a disjointed squad of players...hopefully ancelotti can begin to put his stamp on the squad this summer.

I wonder how many of these players who have been called out today by the manager and captain will be arsed? They know that it’s unlikely the fans will be in the stadiums anytime soon so they have a free ride for a while yet before the fans make their concerns known.
After this latest horror show, can you imagine how toxic the atmosphere would be if it was suddenly announced fans were allowed back in for Villa? There’ll be no way back for half of this team when the crowds return next season.

Richy, Digne, Holgate, mina, Dcl, Gordon. The rest I'd gladly see the back of.

That is majorly worrying. 6 players, out of a squad of 25.

And for me it would just be Richarlison, Holgate, Digne and Gordon. There are plenty on here - and with some justification - haven't rated Digne this season but I think he has been good. There's probably only three that are universally agreed on and it's the other three. And one of them is a recent youth graduate.

Scary stuff.

Hello All,

This is my first post and it's sad I've got nothing positive to say, here goes...

Carlo Ancelotti throughout a large chunk of his managerial career has money to spend, resources and commited (up for it) squads of players to send onto the pitch at the big clubs he's managed at.

I doubt he's ever faced a challenge like this, a team that is a mixture of self serving layabouts (smiling all the way to the bank), kids trying their best, old pros without the legs, the injury prone, those just not good enough and look like disasters waitng to happen and just true class act.

Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Walcott etc, I doubt we could give away for free, they'll still be here stinking the place out.

Given pandemic and the subsequent readjustment of finances, Carlo Ancelotti I suspect will not have the finances to buy himself out of trouble. Does he have the skillset or energy at his time of life to turn this around with just two or three new players coming in next window?

My instincts tell me he might be gone this time next year to a less stressful life.

How long would it take us to replace nearly 20 players as the ones we have to get rid of will not be wanted by anyone with the obscene wages they are stealing. FFP will hamper us for years as we try to replace these frauds.

FFP will be dead in the water within the next 12 hours.

Losing doesn't hurt most of them like it hurts us. Until we get a team that does we are doomed to repeat this cycle...

I'm not sure. I am slightly heartened by the culling of last summer and the one before, but there's even more rot to work through this summer and they're on big contracts. We could be in a crazy situation where we need the likes of Keane and Pickford to leave on a free when their contract expires simply because no one will pay them anywhere near what we will.

There must be players in the championship who would give their right arm to get a chance at EFC, and probably accept wages a fraction of what some of these wasters are on. Have Sheffield or Wolves or Burnley spent millions on ‘big’ signings? No. So their teams have been assembled largely on the cheap (compared to us) using hungry, reasonably talented players and now all 3 are above us. It’s beyond embarrassing.

It's mostly just the midfield the rest can be worked with at least but the midfield? Bin them all off.

Everton's midfield needs a massive overhaul. Time for Ancelotti to use his European contacts to bring in 3 or 4 players with the right attributes and mindset.

im hoping that there’s a few floaters on the maybe pile who might knuckle down if we get rid of the dead wood.

Holgate Richarlison Digne Gordon (definite keeps)

Mina Gbamin Gomes Kean Iwobi Calvert Lewin (I’m hoping that we can still get something out of these players but if they don’t turn their form around they should be moved on)

Pickford Keane Coleman Baines Siggurdson Davies Delph Bernard Walcott (not good enough/ need to go)

Yeah I reckon this is the stuff, maybe I'd put DCL in the bottom group as I cannot stand him. But I appreciate I am in an increasingly smaller crowd there. And Iwobi too.

The other 9 (nine!) you list, god it would be great if we sold them.
