im hoping that there’s a few floaters on the maybe pile who might knuckle down if we get rid of the dead wood.

Holgate Richarlison Digne Gordon (definite keeps)

Mina Gbamin Gomes Kean Iwobi Calvert Lewin (I’m hoping that we can still get something out of these players but if they don’t turn their form around they should be moved on)

Pickford Keane Coleman Baines Siggurdson Davies Delph Bernard Walcott (not good enough/ need to go)
Assuming the 4 you picked will stay

Mina won't be moved on - his value has gone down over 2 seasons, too big a loss for an ok CB
Gbamin is still who he was when we bought him so keep him.
Gomes signed this season so he wont move
Kean could easily go back to Italy, farewell....
Iwobi - see Gomes
DCL - no way he gets sold
Pickford only goes if we get a top class keeper instead
Keane doesn't go as we are short of CB's
Coleman stays as club captain
Baines gets another 12 months
Siggurdson - farewell....
Davies - farewell.....
Delph - see Gomes
Bernard is on too good a thing so stays
Walcott - unless we buy a fast winger he stays
Baningame - farewell........
Which means we would be looking for a CB, 1-2 CM's and a fast winger - potentially a Pickford upgrade if one comes available.
Thats fairly do-able.

Love to see the fume if we started buying players from The Championship.

But the league is rammed full of players who made the step up.

We need players with the right attitude, right now that is almost as important as actual footballing and athletic ability. I don’t give a toss where they come from, if the ability and the desire to achieve is there they will fit.

lol Ditto

The moment Richarlison was withdrawn, it was obvious Carlo had given up and was handing squad players game time to prove themselves.

Shame they all pooped the bed and ran away from the ball/responsibility.

We shouldn’t be allowing any player over the age of 20 to leave on loan this summer. We need to sell or give away, but we can’t he have them rocking back up next season and rejoining the “to cull” list.

I didn't see the game but it just sounds like a distillation of the rubbish that came before. It's a tricky period the asterisk part of the season but players have to stay focused and concentrate and be committed all the time. With the lack of intensity in games I have seen a team like Everton should be looking at a lot of draws and a few narrowish wins/losses without too much effort. Sounds like a tonking yesterday.

I agree with your first list. I think you are right with the second group and they ain't going nowhere for the time being. Gomes is stinking at the moment and I'd be tempted to drop him to the 3rd group (mind you that argument could be made for Kean, Iwobi, etc.)

As for the third group, I can see Coleman, Baines staying as attitude wise I'd keep them for another season and there's got to be some stability.

But the one I'd really like to see go is Pickford. Cannot stand him and his posturing. No midfield worth a damn though will probably mean he's low on the list for replacing.

Still 100% behind Ancelotti though.

Yeah I reckon this is the stuff, maybe I'd put DCL in the bottom group as I cannot stand him. But I appreciate I am in an increasingly smaller crowd there. And Iwobi too.

The other 9 (nine!) you list, god it would be great if we sold them.
Yeah DCL can’t be our main striker. Has the worst technical ability I’ve ever seen

In a parallel universe, we didn't spend big money and our midfield is ledson, lundstrum, gana, Davies, barkley and besic. Combined fees of about 14m

Said it before and I’ll say it again on our day we are comfortably the worst team in the league. The worry of course is that we start having those days consistently

Given how long it took to get rid of Schneiderlin and Niasse and that we still have the likes of Ramirez, Besic & Bolasie on the books I despair how anyone can turn this team around. I want to see Carlo ditch the players he rolls out each week and give the youngsters a few games. Just want to see players with passion for the club on the pitch.
