Bloody dry here. Awkward when there's little ground cover. Not great for parsnip or carrot seed germination, holding off on the carrots for now.

Potting shed's crazy full. Need some rain...

@Joey66 what's the worst perennial weed? Almost inherited a full house here, less bindweed*.

Cheers mate. Had hares tail at my last joint, it's a good un admittedly. You just reminded me to chase up my preorder for asparagus crowns, cheers.

I'm Organic and need good granola to power through the day with no chem's and hand tools only.

Anno, just asking for trouble.

Trying to be organic with Bindweed eg weeding it out if it snaps you are just propagating it as it will return in abundance - you need to kill the root - any hardy perennial weed has this feature - Glycosyphate if used properly is safe .... it kills the root base put washing up liquid a drop in a litre as it acts as a spreader - in your mixture shake well use gloves & a paper mask on a still day - no problems do it your way if it has worked on mares tail

Ideal time to give your lawn a first cut - then fork over any baldy patches add a multi-purpose compost about a 1/4 of an inch reseed & rake the seed from the birds - tread down lightly - water in well - germination will be 7-10 days cut your lawn when the germinated seed establishes;)

Nope, didn't work with mares tail mate. Usual mode is to keep taking the surface growth out and starve the root over a year. Didn't work with horsetail, it still came back into the beds every year (even though I'd continually cleared them), presumably from a very extensive root system.

Mares tail - heavy duty waterproof gloves - Glycosphate with a drop up.liquid & strong mixture into a 5 litre bucket - dip your hands in & smother the mares tail by hand - repeat 7 days later .......
Does it complete kill it ?

Persistance - plus add a stronger dose of Glycosphate wear a mask .....the was in up liquid acts like a spreader helps it to stick to the weed
Fortunately I don’t have any but I have seen some shocking infestations , one house had it everywhere , it would go under the front wall , pavement and come out in the gutter . Been around since prehistoric times , miners have seen roots in their pits .

Thats highly dependent on location though? I still have about 20cm of icy snow on most of my lawn, sure as h3ll wont push a mover through that..!
