Great time to take Soft wood cuttings - divide your hardy perennials from the base, plus if the night is going to be a cold one shut your Cold frames - Tunnels - greenhouses down early to build the temperature overnight - a good time to start making hanging baskets up and harden them off before hang straight up feeding once per week if it gets too windy always take them down & place on a pot till the wind dies down as they can get damaged badly any time in the future .... ;)

Never know where to throw these photos...Earth Porn, Boss Photos etc...this is probably the best. Anyhow, more cacti blooms...they've been poppin' for a month or so....welcome to the desert.

My wife & I spent a couple of hours planting our wall baskets up today - we used a multi purpose compost with bone meal & SR pellets mixed well in each container -
The plants we used were plugs on the net potted on in a greenhouse, but hardened off outside for the last 2-3 weeks we will let them establish before putting up - Wall baskets IMO are better than hanging baskets if you are in a windy location - I will feed once per week once established fully - after watering feed after watering once a week once really established one wee a high nitrogen - 2nd week a high potassium feed - in general water most days in hot weather - remember any high wind forecast drop them onto a container on the floor before hanging back up as wind will ruin them ....

I just mowed the lawn, back and front.

let it grow for a week & weed & feed it - you can mow it when it gets to 3 inches then & do a reseed mixed with compost in the gaps that will reappear when the weeds die .... make sure it's wet before using the weed & feed ....

I hate gardening, and dream of moving into a dockside flat, near Bramley Moore Dock.

I gathered that lol if you have a pet, dont use Weed & Feed - if other pets like cats mess on your garden save your pee in an empty milk carton each night - & pour sprinkle etc it at the edge of your lawn boundary - your scent will mark your boundary as cats are territorial & they will clear off - dont pour it on your lawn a 50/50 mix of urine & water will not do your soil border any harm - its the best deterent for cats & urban foxes ....

I just did the back lawn, then I got half way through the front when my mower decided to go kaput. It currently looks like somebody who's barber died half way through their haircut.

Very frustrating - get a new one on Amazon not worth the cost of repair or check the fuse on your plug first - Flymo with a box is what we use ...... Cheap enough.......or get around the car boots I paid £10 for one lasted ten years ......

Thanks @Joey66
Mine is also a flymo that I've had for about 5 or 6 years.
It's just the drive belt that's snapped so I've ordered a new belt.
(They are £13 from the official flymo shop online, but I found one through drivebeltsolutions.co.uk for £4-25p) ;)
It should be delivered by Wednesday, so the garden will just have to remain like me until then (half cut) lol
