Gerrard?
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has met with midfielder Gareth Barry to discuss a permanent move to Goodison Park - while Romelu Lukaku also remains a summer target - chairman Bill Kenwright has revealed.
The duo both enjoyed successful loan spells with the Blues during the 2013/14 campaign, having joined from Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.
Lukaku's future has been the subject of much media speculation in recent weeks, while Barry is currently a free agent having come to the end of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
"Lukaku, we would love to keep. Gareth Barry, we would love to keep. And that's ongoing work," said Kenwright. "We obviously have to add to the squad, so it's non-stop.
"Gareth Barry had a great season for us. I know the manager has spoken to him and I will meet with his people and we are hopeful he will be here next season.
"Romelu was a great addition to Everton, I have to tell you, off the pitch as well as on. He is an extraordinary boy. He speaks all those languages, he has got a terrific family and he walks the walk as well as talking the talk.
"We would love to have him back and people at Chelsea are good friends of mine, so we are hopeful. But he's at the World Cup now and we will have to wait and see what happens at the World Cup."
Barry played in just about every game for us last season. He played in a team that was challenging for a CL place. He played under a manager that it appears he gets on very well with and is central to how the team plays. There is no guarantee the same would happen if he moves to a new club and he doesn't have that many years left that he can afford to sit on the bench week after week.
I imagine that his children are settled in their schools and a move would mean a huge upheaval intheir lives. I think he may be at an age where these are important factors.
I would be very surprised if he did not sign on for Everton next season.
