First time ive said it. But thanks for clearing that up, i didn't know that. Not sure what sort of fee we will get at his age though.

He won't be here 3 years, it is just a business contract done for whatever reasons. Depending on how everything goes he may stay for the second year but given how he was seriously considering USA this past summer I'm pretty sure after this tough season he'll be off to the retirement home in America with Stevie Me!

As for his form this season, it's got worse and worse. However I'm not putting that all on his aging body. The teams poor performances and missing McCarthy for large chunks has certainly added to his problems.
 

I remember starting to despise Kevin Campbell because he was given a bumper new contract in his 30's when he was shot. Bobby has done it again.
 
Had a quick look at his stats and we've won 3 games out of our last 11 and Barry didn't play a part in them. We've actually lost our last 6 in which he's started.

This is it he is burnt out he was absolutely brilliant last season I think the reason Bobby is playing him week in week out is because he trusts him .

good luck getting rid of this over-paid deadwood to anyone prepared to pay what this basket case club pays duds....

Away from the whole fume when you watch him play, you can see he's on his arse.

He's played 23 games already this season (including Europe). Only missed 2 games in the premiership.

He shouldn't be playing that many games at that age to be effective.

Deffo so it begs the question why is Bobby playing him all the time is it because he is thick and and can't see he is dead on his feet or is it because their is a spilt in the camp and he needs people he can trust out there it has to be the latter .

I'm not buying the split camp personally as its the old guard being touted - Distin, Osman, Pienaar, only have over a year left on their contract. Distin's is out by the end of the season.

Good way of ending your career.
 
At such an age you need to divide your energy wisely. Playing him every single game doesn't help in that. He needs more time off, Besic is a more than able deputy.
