Don't like to be smug but I was telling the world how lucky we'd be to sign him. Class player, not in the flashy way, just in the simplistic perfection way. Has proved himself from the first moment he stepped on the pitch.

Don't think we can underestimate the winning mentality he has brought to the side. Previous posts have likened him to Paul power naturally due to his age and city links. I see more a Peter Reid not in his style of play, but in his attitude. I have no doubt Barry was a massive influence in that dressing room before the game. He has been there and done it with city. He is our midfield general ala Reid, who takes the managers instructions onto the pitch. You only have to look at his interview after the game, he barely got excited as though that type of a result should be the norm not the exception. I for one was delighted we got him, but I don't think any of us could have predicted what influence he has had. It is more than a coincidence the only league game we have lost is city, when he was unable to play.

Bit confused by this.

Gibson was often declared as one of our best players. Some posters went as far to say that he was the best

Now that Mcarthy and Barry have come in, the Gibson love is nowhere near as strong

I never got it myself

I mean, Gibson is a good footballer and I like him, but I always thought the hype he got was a bit OTT to be honest

The bloom is off the rose for the Gibson Lovers it would seem

But, but, but, ....he's injured.....

I still rate Gibson, massively. His injuries are a real issue, but as long as we get a handful of decent performances out of him each season then he's well worth keeping around.
