Always thought that Barry was a good footballer but that's not all you get from him. He's the experienced, been-there-and-done-it, unflappable presence in the middle who provides a calmness both when we are defending and when we have the ball. As massive as getting McCarthy and Lukaku in was, I think anything we go on to achieve this season will hinge on bringing Barry in on deadline day - he is that important to us

He doesn't use pace so could play for a while yet - Especially if rotated with Gibson - help to turn him into a younger Barry

No reason you couldnt get 4 more good years from him. People think footballers should be put down at 30. (Not saying you think this, just plenty of FM managers do).
He's never relied on pace and never had many injuries iirc. He should be ok for that length of service. Players of his style like Tugay, Campo or Hamann even were all playing well at the age of 35+.

McCarthy and Barry, reminds me so much of Bracewell and Reid.

Barry is an important a signing for Everton FC as Peter Reid and Andy Gray were.

Barry was awesome last night and just grew and grew into the game. I cant' remember the last time I saw such a dominate performance by an English midfielder. Keeping him next season is an absolute must

i dont know why we think hes so good, i mean if he was any good then wouldnt he be getting into the england team/squad ahead of henderson/cleverley jones???
