I like Gibson, but wouldn't want him as our sole option

Gibson and Barry alternating seems the perfect solution to me

If he doesn't sign I can go back to slating him and calling him sh*te, especially if he chooses West Ham over us, if he does sign great.

So not sure if it been mentioned but someone told me that we are liable to pay City a £2m deferred loan payment if we sign Barry as a free transfer this summer. Anyone else heard that?

It's sounds plausible but I just can't quite believe it myself.

Sounds rubbish. If we were forced to pay more we would had opted to sign him in January rather than wait for his contract to run down.

Loan deals are notorious in how they are composed. All sorts of bits and bobs so everyone is happy. So it may well be true.

I think we really need him for one more season he was vital at the beginning of the year but just got knackered towards the end. I wouldn't rather Gibson over Barry the lad will probably get injured for the majority of the season, its the reason we got him on the cheap for 500k. But if this rumour about us saying we'll give Man City 2mil I don't think it would be worth our while.

I really wouldn't mind us giving him a decent amount of cash to stay for 1 more year I just think we need his experience in the middle of the field next to McCarthy and Barkley playing ahead of him.

Its a worry to rely on a player who has played 32 games in nearly 3 years in Gibson.

I know Barry now looks very unlikely according to some, and if it doesn't come off, that compounds our CM issue. We need at least 2 bodies.

Think people are worrying too much over the Barry situation, transfer window doesn't actually open till June, right?

I expect the deal will be announced before the 10th or something.

I don't expect him to sign to be honest, I've read nothing from either side that seemingly indicates its likely. I hope I'm wrong obviously but i just can't see it now and think he's off to the MSL.
