Did u go the game? My first of the season tonight, thought he was very good. Neat, tidy, committed, organiser like a more talented Phil Neville. Big asset for us and his experience will help the younger players out

Gareth Barry, making his 500th Premier League appearance, was again hugely influential for the home team all night. Barry touched the ball more times than any other Everton player (80) and made the highest number of passes for his club (75) in the entire match.

On a side note...apparently Mirallas was carrying a light injury when he was substituted...anyone know anything about that? If so...hopefully he will be fine for the Man City game.

Had to tread carefully after yellow card, but like Carsely the more anonymous the better, did what he had to do and we'd be considerably poorer without him - Gibbo has to perform at his best v City to be comparable
