He could have had a nice career modelling with that profile but glad he chose football instead.

Given the inexperience of a lot of our team think his calmness under pressure is a great asset, he always offers himself as an outball option even when pressed. Doesn't always work out as, particularly against energetic opponents, he can be harried but he'll take that responsibility on his shoulders. Seems to be relishing the captain's armband.

Never truly appreciated him before he played in our shirt, classy professional.

Your last sentence is exactly how I feel about him. When we signed him ON LOAN...I was massively in the 'WTF' corner...

I was proven wrong. He's been an excellent signing.

The vaults are massively open on this fella...the critics from this season seriously need to have a word with themselves.

@Saint Domingo (yes you are still on ignore you massive WUM)

Because he's turned it on against the league's two worst teams at home? I stand by what I've said about him because I'm not a ridiculous knee jerker like some. Some games he'll be excellent, some games his lack of pace and passing range will be exposed especially as he's next to an equally negative partner. 2 weeks ago for example we passed up two extra points failing to beat a West Ham in a game we could easily have won. Deulofeu torturing the two easiest teams in the league does not change my views on Barry.

So picking a point up at a good West Ham team isn't a good result

And dropping two points against West Ham was Barry's fault

Always said with so many young players in the team you need experience, in Barry that's what we have.

He is no spring chicken, but I would rather have an experienced and knowledgable player in midfield than a headless Besic running round like a madmen

Ahem!! You are just a troll who doesn't like giving Everton any credit. You don't celebrate Everton wins you dissect them and come up with the same conclusion that who we beat were crap and who we didn't beat we should have. Find your positive vibe and you may begin to like Everton again or better still give kenwright a couple of hundred million to help us compete with the richer clubs.

Completely erroneous and overly hysterical. I missed the game yesterday and was stuck in the middle of nowhere without signal but I was made up with the result. As usual though if you're not blindly positive about everything you're branded a troll. Came on here expecting to join in an outpouring of Everton related joy but instead find a number of usual suspects only bothered about point scoring. Glad that supposedly disproving my views on Barry or whoever is one of their first reactions to a great Everton win. If you bother to read my posting history you'd see that I've given Martibez credit for every win this season. He's shaping up this season nicely and has improved the team markedly from last year. Does that make my views on the team last year ridiculous? No. As ever though you have to be at either end of the spectrum and if you're not you'll get painted by such by a group of posters desperate to reaffirm themselves by being 'right' all the time. I've got no interest in that. I'll comment on poor results, I'll enjoy good ones, I'll hold views for as long as I want and change my mind as and when I want. If a player proves my initial view wrong? Great, I'm made up, maybe if Barry continues all season in this form I'll change my view on him and will be pleased to do so, it doesn't bother me to admit if I've misjudged players or managers. All I care about is Everton winning. Having great game on GOT and trying to make myself out as some unvaultable boss blue is frankly the last thing on my mind. If this stance 'trolls' you then slap me on ignore mate. You mis quote most of what I say any way so it's probably a good move for you.
