Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

He'll have low wages, the loan fee shouldn't be crazy as it's about him getting experience and we'll have an exciting player to watch for a year. I'm all for it.

I normally hate non-permanent signings like this but the lid is meant to be an incredible talent, and there is literally no way we could sign him permanently. If he was going to be super pricey then I'd rather put the money elsewhere, but a useful player for one year isn't anything to be sniffed at.

This is right, but it just upsets me that we'll be developing this kid, nursing him through mistakes, exposing him to first team football, all for barcas gain. We shouldn't be anyone's bitches, we're not a feeder club. Purely football wise though will probs work out fine

anything but naismith on the wing please!

Its not about being a 'bitch' to anyone. I mean, as much as people hide away from it, how has our relationship with United helped us? Weve got Howard, Gibbo and Neville as well as Saha. A hopefully healthy relationship with Barca cannot be a bad thing at all. If anything we may get a few class players shipped to us for loan or even a few of their non regulars who would fit us and that we could actually afford.

Onto the topic of this lad. He is meant to be the next Messi for Barca apparently, do you not think that will give us something extra for us this season? and you never know, there may even be a 'Donovan' effect on him, fall in love and want to come maybe in his later career etc (Providing he flopped, if he was the new Messi we would have no hope at all. But a very exciting player for a season is only a good thing.

Not just Barca's gain though. We'll get a very good player to help us out for a year. You never know, if Barca's squad is still packed after a year, they may want to loan him out for a 2nd year

Now then.

I might think that Ballague is a proper proper bell end, but he knows Spanish football like James Richardson knew football italia.

If a thread I started actually ends with is signing a player....well....

SCENES

I'm not big on loans with no view to buy but if we can get a Messi even if just for a year I think that will go a long way for our league standing and maybe develope a good relationship with the best producer of players in the world.

Provided this kid is the real thing.

I'm all for this deal. We didn't even get a loan in last season and looking back it may have cost us at the start of the new year when everyone was looking a bit tired. If he comes in and sets the league on fire than great, he can help us push on and then go back to Barca and we can look on with fond memories if he progresses into the world beater he's meant to become. If not its another good squad player to add on to the bench and adds some much needed pace into the squad

Guillem Balague is a weapon like but when he says something is going on regarding a Spanish side then it almost always transpires. It think the safe money is on that we'll be seeing him at Goodison next season.

There are lots of good points about this,if it happens, and most have been mentioned above. Also, he will obviously be able to play the Martinez way, and this will mean the team as a whole will be edged towards the kind of football Roberto likes, and the worst parts of the Moyes 'style' eradicated. So far, a very sensible yet positive window from Martinez. Encouraging.

I like the sound of this lad. He does seem very raw, but in a team full of consistent experienced players he could shine. There's little to lose from it. He will be an upgrade on Naismith and will add quality in the final third. It reflects well on what Martinez is trying to do.

@Tony_Scott11: For those that are asking, the Deulofeu loan deal is close but the loan for Victor Moses is still some way off but #EFC are interested.

Although it's only a potential loan deal, Barca love to put the 'Buy back' clause into their young players transfer stipulations when negotiating with other clubs. Romeu went to Chelsea with one, €5m transfer fee but able to buy back after the first year for €12m and the 2nd year €21m. Bojan and Jeffren left with similar deals. Prevents them getting stung like with Fabregas.

He looks a talent but he has got enough to get past Messi, Neymar and Iniesta, are Barca going to need him around the side whilst he's at such a young age with little experience of a top league. I could see a season long loan deal turning into a 2/3 year deal somewhere. Just hope it's at Goodison!
