Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Thought the same. Very strange. Rivalries notwithstanding even.

Said nothing about his quality just that he still dives and it's been a complaint by many opponents in the Primera, not just Barcelona...so the bit about him being toughened up in the Premiership was amusing to me

Fair enough. Players like him dont need toughening up. Much like some of your lads. Best in the world at both clubs imo. And he dives? pfft.

They all do now. Even here at times.

So, after the claims that next season Everloan will collapse and have no players, it's seems a reasonable suggestion that we may actually have all of those players with us again at the start of the next season. Who'd of thunk it!

As for my club, I couldn't speculate whether they are happy or not just that the terms of the loan were weighted in such a financial manner to encourage playing him more...So from that perspective, it wouldn't appear that the club would be happy don't you think?...As for fans, most I have had conversations with want him back in Spain to play more...Not so much a criticism of Everton or the Premiership but that he isn't playing enough which goes back to my argument which is that if he's going to be bench fodder, why not be that at his parent club where he will ultimately play...I think some are confusing what loans are intended to provide, I realize that they are often used differently in the Premiership but Barcelona count on Gerard - he represents the future
You keep on mentioning this, that he isn't playing enough. Perhaps this is down to differing expectations of how much playing time he would get here given our position in the league, his adaptation time/injury and competition for his position.

At the club we now have Pienaar, Mirallas, McGeady who generally play as wingers and Osman, Barkley and Naismith who have been used on the wing over the season especially when tactically we need more cover for the fullbacks. Lukaku was even used on the right wing to great effect in the Arsenal game.

I doubt you would have been happy if we had played him every game, especially given his injury and being a young kid in a physical league – Ozil certainly has struggled for example to make the switch and he is a seasoned international.

How many starts/playing time were you expecting?

Barcelona, unlike the capital club, never include such a clause in loans

Prove it.

serious question seeing as you are the ultimate barca super fan why are you always on here and not on a barca fourm? Is it because for all your heritage you can't Speke Spanish?

how FCBarca can complain about gametime is ridiculous. he's made 22 appearances this year in which he's had a couple of months out with a hamstring injury, notorious for being very risky to come back. He has to earn his place in the team, sometimes he's done that, sometimes he's been selfish and not earned it.

He isn't just here to get gametime, he is here to learn from a coach that Barcelona trust, if that means he has go on the bench sometimes, or start sometimes, that's what happens. Barcelona KNEW that Deulofeu wasnt' going to get 90 minutes each week as he simply isnt' good enough to start every week as he's very one trick.
