Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

For some reason he doesn't feel like it's a fair footballing chance that he's created unless he has been an opposition player a few times first.

does anyone remember Alan Ball being on goals on Sunday and he was asked about Steve Mcmanaman, as I remember he talked about the most important touch for a footballer being the last one.he said as good as all his wing play and ball tricks were ,Mcmanaman's final ball was often poor......same can be said I think for the spanish wonder kid.

Well, every player's final ball cans often be poor.

The thing about Gerald is that there is never a game goes by where he doesn't deliver at least one wicked ball which is just begging for someone to put in the net.

He wasn't good today but he still put in a fantastic cross which Lukaku should have buried instead of heading over the bar.

spot on, wasn't he. there's no point in dribbling past three defenders and then spanking the ball into row z every time. heskey was a fairly decent target man, but because he coouldn't finish for toffee, everyone remembers his final touch i.e. an appalling miss and he often gets chucked into the "worst strikers ever" bracket.

I don't think he will make it as a pro.

Agreed, think it's clear that the coaching at Barcelona has been defective in Gerard's case, and if the lad's to stand any chance he needs to stay here to improve, in the reserves and from the bench occasionally.

Shame because he's got the attributes but he hasn't received the correct guidance in Spain.

I do t mind him taking people on and losing the ball, it happens, I can take him being greedy, it happens to be the way some if the very best players play, what I struggle to deal with is the negative effect he has on baines' game. Because delafoof loses the ball so frequently and passes rarely, baines rightly doesn't bomb on as much and that makes us a much worse team

The fact that we have Pienaar, Miralles and Oviedo out and Barkley, Naismith and Osman are horrible out wide I guess he will start against City but please not on the left. Stick him on the right with Aids down the left

I think there will be a massive sigh of relief when he goes back to spain. It's been plain since pre season the lads don't trust him and rightly so.He thinks he is the new messi and everyone should do his running for him, the midfield lads are having to dog 40yds to support him just as he falls over again throwing his arms in the air and does not get up and chase back. Waste of space that in a couple of years we never be heard of again.
