It's interesting that in 2003 when Laporta was first elected (Along with Rosell), one of the club's prized youth assets were poached away by Arsenal, one Cesc Fabregas...It was such a contentious election that the player slipped under the radar, something that the board were blamed for until he was finally brought back in 2010

A big reason why it's good that Alves & Lucho were extended before Bartomeu stepped down...Fortunately Deulofeu is under contract through 2017 so not only will his immediate future not be resolved until after the election but he won't slip under the radar the way Cesc did and end up elsewhere, Everton included
